Tevez [Merged]

Do you really think it matters that much if your offered £100k to say £140k? Especially if you have ££££ in the bank. You can afford to choose where you want to go for your career really.

That all depends on each players motivation and the advice they are getting from the agent, family and friends. They will have a very big impact on Tevez final decision.

If the offer of 140K results in the agent getting 2million but the 100K offer results in him getting 1.25million then the agent may well say got to City is a good move for any reason he can think of and I'm sure that cook et al can sell the dream to help out here.

The thing with this deal is that the money genterated in the sale is not going to a club but is going to a firm fronted by the agent so the money involved here is even more.

what would happen if his wife say we are not moving again the kid are in a good school, we've a nice house I like here........... that cut down the opinion by half before the talk open

So is Tevez motivated by money or does he want to play in the CL for a team capable of winning the Prem? And if its money do we want that type of player? Whatever his decision the guy will never be poor will he.

Just reported on SSN that he will be having talks with Us, Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea in 2 days time.

Sorry if already posted,

I still think we have the upper hand. United f*cked him about, he wont get a guaranteed start with Chelsea and Liverpool are skint.

No ............... All I'm trying to say is other people will have an impact on his decision........ his agent will have one agenda, His family may have another .......... Tevez may not have any interest in the cash at all but will be listening to other people who may.

This move will not be decided by tevez as a single person there will be a lot of other people advising him it will be his agent, his international manager, other advisors and most importantly his family.

If he come here it could be that the extra wage is just a bonus for keeping his family happy or making sure that he'll be in the starting 11 next summer in the world cup

Money is not the only issue here

Both us and Chelsea can offer a package that will more than meet his needs, where we'll differenciate is what we can offer in terms of on the pitch. Whilst CHelsea can offer European football and title contenders straight away they cannot guarentee, for example a 75% playing time for Tevez. (Or so you'd think - with Anelka, Drogba, Joe Cole, Malouda etc)

What we can offer is the chance to be a part of our history, to ride the crest of our wave to the top and we can, at this moment in time pretty much guarentee him a regular starting price.

He seems like the type of player who would thrive in our situation.

Yes he could afford to but, it does make a big difference on his earnings.

on £140,000 p/w he'd be on £7,280,000 a year (£140,000 x 52)
whereas
on £100,000 p/w he only be getting £5,200,000 a year (£100,000x52)

five years at £7,280,000 p/y is £36m (£7,280,000x5)
whereas
five years at £5,200,000 p/y is £26m (£5,200,000x5)

so over the five years he'd lose out on £10m

This might not sound much for a footballer but when he retires there is little chance he'll be able to earn big sums by going into the British media and he has a family to look out for, so he should try and earn as much as he can now, while he has the opportunity.
