So is Tevez motivated by money or does he want to play in the CL for a team capable of winning the Prem? And if its money do we want that type of player? Whatever his decision the guy will never be poor will he.

Both us and Chelsea can offer a package that will more than meet his needs, where we'll differenciate is what we can offer in terms of on the pitch. Whilst CHelsea can offer European football and title contenders straight away they cannot guarentee, for example a 75% playing time for Tevez. (Or so you'd think - with Anelka, Drogba, Joe Cole, Malouda etc)

What we can offer is the chance to be a part of our history, to ride the crest of our wave to the top and we can, at this moment in time pretty much guarentee him a regular starting price.

He seems like the type of player who would thrive in our situation.[/quote]

Yeah I get what your saying but we shouldn't guarantee him football either really. What if his form dips? If we say you can get as you say 75% playing time and we don't meet that, what are the consequences for us? Players, except Lampard maybe, expect to be rotated. Thats the difference with the top teams, they have a bench full of full internationals.

Also you can say come to City and be part of something but that isn't a given is it. So what if in two years time we haven't delivered CL football? We can't guarantee that can we. Chelsea can guarantee CL football next year and basically for the next 5 realistically

Don't worry tevez's move to city hasn't been announced- he has been playing in argentina for javier zanetti's testimonial this weekend

Is his form really gonna dip to Ched/Caicedo levels.... I think he'd be a safe starter for most games...
