Big fan of Carlos, great player that sets an amazing example on the pitch. My first reaction to all of this was "Why should it matter what he does off the pitch?"
But, as a life-long blue, I hate the way this guy is messing around with the club, the owners and the fans. He's simply not happy with being adored and idolised by the fans and earning more in a week than most would in a year, captaining the team (undeservedly, in my opinion - he is an outstanding player but can barely speak english!) to FA Cup victory- although he didn't attend the semi-final as he was 'in Italy being treated'- and having secured a promise of Champions League football next season, he wants more.
Mostly, what I have a problem with is not necessarily what CT is doing, but the way he is doing it.
I don't understand how going to, say, Inter Milan would help his family settle. Surely Italian is just as difficult as English? I would understand more if he moved back to Argentina, or moved to Spain or Brazil.
I also don't get why he is seeking a 'better offer' whilst he is at the richest club in the world, claiming money is not important!
He says it is all about what is best for his family, and yet when claiming to go on 'compassionate leave' back to Argentina to be with his daughters, he went to Tenerife with his girlfriend!
I'm going to be honest, if Carlos Tevez stays, no matter how much trouble he causes us this summer, I'll still proudly wear my number 32 shirt to watch the Blues in action.
But I will also say that if he leaves, that shirt will probably never emerge from my wardrobe again.
Yes, you may call me fickle, but I know where my true loyalties lie, with Manchester City.
The way I see it, Carlos Tevez has two options:
1. Find a top club with guaranteed champions league football and a spare 50million to spend.
(I'd like to point out here that MCFC fall into all of these categories, what is he looking for?!)
2. Stay at City until his contract has expired (maybe renew it) and become a Club Legend and a hero amongst the fans as he leads an exciting team to new victories, backed by thousands of adoring fans. The difference between going to a team like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, etc, and staying at City, is that he can't do anything that has already been done at other clubs. but at City he would be making history.
I know which one I'd pick.
