Tevez replacement [Merged]

I like Mata, but IMO he can't play as the lead striker, I haven't seen all that much of him tho. That would currently leave only Balo and Dzeko (not including Jo, RSC, Big Phil etc) and I think Balo is better from the left, as he gets isolated and despondent up front.

Just saw that Lazio would consider selling Zarate, he's an option. Don't know if he's really any better than Lavezzi tho to be honest.
I don't know why, but I have a feeling City will be getting him to replace Tevez.

Graham Hunter said it best in 5Live. Almost a direct quote, he's talking about Aguero.

"If an English football club misses the chance to sign a player with skills similar to Messi, who has the physical build for English football, and watches him blossom at some other major club, then they will regret it. He is indeed a world class footballer, in the top 5 strikes in the world potentially. If they have the money, English clubs should buy him now."

Can't agree more. Hope Cook was listening.

Not a replacement but would Anelka or possibly Defoe be worth a punt?

Both have experience and know where the net is!!

Only a thought though and I'll gladly take it back if anyone disagrees. :)
Defoe scored 2 goals last season.

I knew that, but he'd bag a fair few in this team surely?

Just pay the £40m City, two birds with one stone.

Just seen on SSN that City are going to take a hard line and will not sell Tevez unless his valuation is met. I would take that to be in the region of £50 mil which looking at some of the Italian fees seems if anything a bit low.
My question is that if and when we do sell him we will be told it is an undisclosed fee. This will protect City and mean they will not be seen to have backed down.
If the powers that be are concerned about transfer fees getting out of control why not start with a few laws that ensure all financial transfer details must be made public. I bloody hate all this undisclosed crap!

Couple of names I've not seen posted yet: hernandez or berbatov - both scored plenty for title winning team; 2nd strikers how about Thomas muller or Rafael vdv - neither prolific like tevez but could suit our shape playing off dzeko. But of names already mentioned, aguerro or rvp for me. Got to face facts tevez goals will be hard to replace so need 20 each from Mario and edin plus yaya, silva and hopefully nasri chipping in 15 between them!

Berbatov would be a great signing, not only the goals but the ability to hold the ball up and bring the likes of Silva and Mario into play.

I honestly think he would be a great asset to our team.

As for Hernandez, great pace but we already have that with Mario up front. Whether Bobby Manc decides to play him regularly though is a different matter.

I think Hunter is full of it and it would be mad to replace tevez with aguera. Eto’o is proven world class player who is a guarantee success. Not a potential young argie who can become great one day

Berbatov has always struck me as a big-game choker and not a particularly prolific goalscorer apart from last season.

Pointless discussing Hernandez as the rags would never sell least of all to us.
