Tevez replacement [Merged]

There are only two other clubs capable of paying the sort of money City are talking about, Chelsea and Real Madrid (you'd be the third but obviously excluded in this case). Chelsea have no need for him, moving to London doesn't resolve his supposed issues and City would not sell their best player to a rival - so thats one ruled out.

Real Madrid are your only suitor and they'll take you to the cleaners given the situation Tevez has put you in with his public comments. You'll be lucky to make a trade for one of their players or get something like £30m. From an outside perspective it looks like a cut your losses situation. On the bright side he did contribute heavily to get you where you are so its not like a total disaster. He could be doing this while you were still mounting your assault on the Sky 4.

no chance!!
real madrid might think they're cute but at the end of the day we as a club dont 'need' to sell.
yeah as a fan i just want him away from here as quick as possible now but our owners can say pay the 50m or get to fuck and we keep him till his contract runs out, its that simple.

I see a lot of people doing this. FLinging out names of highly talented players plus cash for Tevez. or 2 players for Tevez and I can't help but laugh at the bluetintedness of it all.

I mean I imagine for a second that you are another club, and there is this extremely talented Malcontent on another team who is crying he wants to leave, and has a history of getting bored with is present situation every 2 years, has on many occassions threatened to retire from football in a few years and more, why on God's earth would you give up 2 great players for him or a Great player and 20 million. This assumes here that everyone rates Tevez as highly as CIty does. Even if that were the case, they probably still wouldn't do it. As at best you are only guaranteed 1 year of Tevez before he starts spazzing out again.

But the truth here is this, no one probably rates Tevez as highly as we do. And anyone with a brain can see Tevez has City built around him. I doubt any other big club would be interested in doing that/ Most already have their own main superstar and are looking to augment. May be Malaga who is the new City, but I don't see anyone else valuing Tevez as highly as City does.

I mean on Argentina's Squad where he is not the focal point, he is no better than Di Maria or Lavezzi and clearly inferior to Aguero. Which suggests he is the kind of player that needs to be the focal point to get the best out of him. Since no big club who may afford him presently needs that except perhaps Juventuss, he really would have to go to an up and coming club for straight cash, or a big club for 1 very good player at best.

The only logical solution, while complicated is the Aguero swap, 2 players who want out of their present situations. Barring that City will not get its valuation worth. And there will be no Kaka + Benzema type stupidity. Actually there will be no Kaka at all. Benzema plus 10 million or something similar will be our best deal.

My fear actually is as strange as it may seem, that City stick to their guns and refuse to sell for less than 50 million, there is no club that will pay that kind of money for the reasons above.

We might be stuck with a very unhappy Tevez on our hands, who will cause all sorts of problems.

I worry about that too. I just dont how they can keep when three players last spring asked if Kompany could be Captain.

My guess they are setting the price high, so when we do get some bids we dont get totally mugged. I see it ending around £30m.. I know people will curse and say no way. You need a buyer to sell, and thats the price I think we will find a buyer.

The worst case scenario is not that we get mugged on the fee we get, the worst that mght happen is Tevez being forced to stay and then causing so much trouble that our season will be completely ruined.

While I would have no serious issue with him going to Chelsea, it would only be for a premium price.

If they value Torres at £50m, then Tevez would be £60m.

But I don't honestly think Chelsea is an option.

Thing is though, every club will be trying to take the piss by valuing their swap options at ridiculous values - if we can get even 40mil hard cash it makes it easier for us to pursue our targets.

As I said though I can't see him going to Chelsea but I wouldn't put it past that snake, Kia, to try it on.

Agreed lower our price to something like 40 just to get rid of him and then use the money to buy Aguero. If we have to go over 40 for him so be it. The team will be MUCH better for it. We should not be forced into taking someone's cast off. We can afford to get the players we want even if it means we have to let Carlos go at a lower price.

I know City fans don't want to here it, but even at 40 million, he wouldn't sell :( We have got a cancerous talent on our hands.

I dont think this one will pick up steam till mid August (yes after we have started our season). Someone will try and get him on the cheap, or one on a loan then buy deal. If we £30m will be lucky. But time for Capt Kompany!!!

Funny, I was just going to edit my post and make it 30-35. I agree. What is important is to get rid of him. His wages are huge. Get them off the books and get 30 in a fee and lets end this thing and go get Aguero.

The problem with that is having an unhappy player on your books. If you put him in the reserves that'll still unsettle your squad massively. You're still paying the outrageous wages and you're filling a foreign player squad slot. You don't HAVE to sell him, but he'll continue to kick and scream if you don't - which gives any suitor (Real Madrid being the overwhelming candidate) the power.

Ideas like straight swap with Atletico are all well and good in theory but they couldn't afford his wages. Juventus might be an option but they seem to flake when push comes to shove.

Tevez knows the score. If he wants to get to Spain or Italy he needs a bid, and if no one makes one he will come onside after the Copa America
