Tevez replacement [Merged]

Tevez knows the score. If he wants to get to Spain or Italy he needs a bid, and if no one makes one he will come onside after the Copa America

I'd be surprised if Tevez actually knew what year it was. He's got the brains of a fucking rocking horse and he'll do whatever Kia Wormtongue tells him to do.

If Kia thinks he can get a better deal by Tevez being a **** then he'll be a ****. If he thinks he'll make more money by Tevez keeping his mouth shut and working hard on the pitch then Tevez will shut up and get on with it.

The problem with that is having an unhappy player on your books. If you put him in the reserves that'll still unsettle your squad massively. You're still paying the outrageous wages and you're filling a foreign player squad slot. You don't HAVE to sell him, but he'll continue to kick and scream if you don't - which gives any suitor (Real Madrid being the overwhelming candidate) the power.

Ideas like straight swap with Atletico are all well and good in theory but they couldn't afford his wages. Juventus might be an option but they seem to flake when push comes to shove.

We don't have a reserve team anymore only EDS, yes first team players can join that squad but I read it will only be to provide games for bringing someones fitness back up to scratch for the first team. If Tevez doesn't leave for another club and in my opinion only he will be put on gardening leave with maybe a little bit of a fitness programme you don't want a valuable asset being injured. He would be nowhere near the first team at all. Furthermore we are very fortunate in that because of the wealth of our owner his pay is a drop in the ocean and the club can put him on gardening leave without it affecting the other business of the club. In addition provided we say he for sale we are not penalised under FFPR, and finally he wouldn't be taking a squad place because he wouldn't be anywhere near it. Come 1/9/11 if he hasn't gone he will be a very unhappy chappy and no doubt will also have a gagging order on him from the club to prevent further outbursts in the press. Of course I could be completely wrong.

My heart loves this...my head doesn't. As bad as it would be for business I would get so much joy watching him rot away his best years in Manchester off the pitch.

Other solutions Simon,
Neymar £40m - no....just simply wouldnt hack it in the prem
Karim Benzema £25m - good player but not in the tevez mould
David Villa £35m - very good player but would he leave barca...and would he adpat to the prem and he is also getting on a bit.
Samuel Eto'o £25m - one of my fav all time players - but would he come???
Luis Suarez £30m ...hmmmm!!!!...intersting
Guiseppi Rossi £15m - no ...simply not in the same class as tevez
Mario Gomez £25m - as above - no thanks!!!
Falcao £25m - not seen so no idea
Edinson Cavani £35m not in the same class as tevez...no thanks
Vagner Love £15m
- please say you are joking!!!

from that list id go for aguero, eto-o (thuogh he is a very different type of player to tevez), suarez...no idea about falcao..the rest are either not good enough or unobtainable
I was just saying as many possible other solutions as I could think of. Also forlan, osvaldo and even gyan

I think too many on here are panicking unnecessarily.

Tevez would not have gone public without some back-up. I believe that he will have been sounded out already and he'll want it done and dusted after the Copa.

For him to just make such a public proclamation without having done the groundwork doesn't make sense. If he thinks he's going to get a cheaper move because of it, I think he is going to be proved wrong.

City have to make a business stand on this, it's as much a matter of principle as anything else.

We will either get the deal we want, or else Tevez will carry on playing. And I doubt if he would be that much of a problem, seeing as the club will have granted him his wish to leave... and the fact his agent can't negotiate the deal will be his fault, and not City's.

Oh, and as an aside... I bet Mancini is skipping at the moment.
I always believed he wanted Tevez gone, and said as much last autumn.

If you pull that off I will stand and applaud City for putting one of these douchebag players in their place.

I agree about Bob skipping however imo there is zero chance that Carlos will still be at City come 1st Sept.

I will be astonished if "we get the deal we want", we will be lucky to have him valued in a swap at anything over £35mil.

I'm certainly not panicking in the slightest, I just don't delude myself that there is any other outcome than him being gone with us being bummed on the deal.

I don't think we will be bummed by Tevez, Kia or anyone else!

Trust mate. Trust. I think we are prepared to make a stand on this one, and get a decent swap deal as minimum.

I take your point that we're very unlikely to get the £50m... but I still think we'll get enough...

Well he cost us 25m on five year deal 30m if believe other stories, he has done two years so the value remaining on his contract is anything between 15m -18m so anything above that, shows as a profit.
