Tevez to sue Souness

"...epitomises....man on the street...wrong with the game..."

If Souness needs a witness to demonstrate the truth in that quote as part of his defence, I'm more than happy to appear on his behalf.

Souness represented accurately, succinctly and politely what I thought at the time and still do.

I genuinely hope Tevez never kicks a football, in a professional capacity, ever again. The thought of him making a penny more out of the game I would pay to play, well it just knocks me sick to my stomach.

Part and parcel if any war is to win hearts and minds. Tevez has broken many hearts and evidently lost his mind.
If there is a manager who is going to sign Tevez after all that, you could only shake your head. And rub your hands of course.
On the pitch he is without doubt a great player. Off the pitch he's a fucking fruit loop. As it's a results based business (sorry for that cliche) loads of managers would take a punt at the right price.

Hold firm City, hold firm.

Here's my twopenn'orth - if 2 media QC's think its libel, they might know a lot about the law but evidently they don't know much about football, so probably this report is a load of bollox.
Sky would absolutely love it if they were sued and would let it run all the way to court because they could live off the publicity surrounding the hearing of the case for days - weeks even.
Apart from that, it wouldn't cost Souness a penny in the unlikely event that Tevez won, because Souness was speaking as a servant or agent of Sky at the time, so Sky would have to pick up the tab on behalf of Souness. Sky have bottomless pockets so money is no object to them anyway.
Finally, Sky and Souness would a have a good defence to any claim of defamation - it's called fair comment.
Bring it on if you dare Carlos......

If Souness believed what he was saying to be true then it isn't libel, as I understand it.

He won't sue. Just like he won't sue Mancini, and he won't sue The Guardian for their article about the real story behind Tevez's ownership.

This proves more than anything else what many people have been saying on these pages: Kia's 'influence' in English football is a complete sham.

His strategy for negotiating deals for his players was feeding player 'quotes' to the tabloids and to constantly go on about the 'special bond' his players had with the fans. The agent can be a bastard, you see, because Tevez was 'honest, always gave 110% on the field and loved the fans." It was, pathetically enough, just: Good cop, Bad cop.

But all that disappeared in Munich when Tevez refused to do what his manager asked and help out his team mates. The entire football world was appalled, Souness just happened to be the first one to say it. Devastatingly for Kia, Tevez was now the bad cop too.

So that's it. Kia's web of lies has collapsed. There's nothing left now, so he's desperately trying to claw back some of the image he paid the tabloids to create.

Sue Souness? For expressing his personal opinion?

Yes Kia, of course you will ...
Great Post ,One day the story will come out who is behind Tevez , shadowy figures I,ve heard who speak the same language as Ambramovich.
Tevez,s Pr man is a tablod journalist and his job is to keep his client in the news so he uses his pals in the press and they don,t care if the story is true ,as long as it gets reaction.

YCMIU with this wanker can you?

He's planning legal action against Souness for his rant against Tevez on Sky and wants to take it to court. In tomorrow's Daily Mail, should be online soon.

Here it is:

. . . . . . . he never refused to come on as a substitute.

Sky would make no comment.

Can someone explain to me, if he didn't refuse to come on, why didn't he get onto the field? Was his fat arse glued to the bench? Was there a ball and chain anchoring him to the seat?

the spittle dribbling from his weirdly droopy lower lip had formed a sort of glue that prevented movement apparently

He's like a little kid and someone's told him the meaning of 'deformation of character' and now hes using it left right and centre as his defense case, hope we see the back of him in January
