Tevez's Injury (Merged)

Re: Tevez's Injury

In the post match interview last night I don't think Mancini really had a clue whether the Tevez injury was a really bad one or not.Out for Saturday no doubt but his words about needing 2 weeks more were at best a guess and really just a prayer. Out for the season is most likely so how he uses the 2 strikers we are left with, both seriously out of any form, will be interesting.

Re: Tevez's Injury

The worst thing is we have got Ade Bellars on the pay roll and could end up starting with Jo and that lunatic Balo

Re: Tevez's Injury

Tevez will be leaving in the summer anyway we all know that. But he normally turns it on in the big games and usually give his all. The result was a disaster given the context and momentum but more so given tevez has scored 30 % of our goals. Mario can't be trusted or relied upon dzeko looked good on paper but has not settled and has no form.

Really it doesn't get much worse we have to finish in the top 4 and after that result with the games we have left I have very little confidence.

Based on that performance and the players we have available I don't fancy our chances at the weekend either. The irony is we have 2 players bang on form out on loan that unfortunately would not play for the manager club or fans.

It was a huge gamble playing that team away to Liverpool and its inflicted enormous damage it would well be the one game that has written off the entire season.

Tevez's Injury

Ffs, can anyone remember the last time he played well?? Balo can do the job on Saturday.
The rags had tevez in there back pocket last time we played them and wio and vidic hate playing against pace and that's one thing Balo has alot of.

The substitutions that followed were absolute farce.

I don't like knocking Mancini and always try to give him a break. However, I would love to hear an explanation for bringing NDJ on for 10 minutes given all the context of the situation. Possibly the worst substitution I have ever seen. I am assuming that by that point Mancini had (temporarily hopefully) completely lost the plot.

-- Tue Apr 12, 2011 9:59 am --

I think he'll start with Balotelli up front on his own.

Re: Tevez's Injury

wasn't he out with this for Chelsea?

I knew as soon as that bloody long winded and pointless Hillsborough thing started that somebody would do their hamstring, they would stood there for a good 5 minutes maybe more, I said "someone's gonna do their hamstring in at this rate" and look what bloody happened.

Re: Tevez's Injury

Totally pissed off with last night,

It is a priority for us to be in Champions League next year and the players never took their oportunity and neither did Bobby.

We should have fielded both De Jong and Silva from the start but when we go down 3-0 with the game all but over Mancini should never have risked the pair of them in a finished game.

We could have been in a more difficult position if we had lost both De Jong and Silva as DJ is our only ball winner and Silva our only creator.

If we are playing Dzeko in the middle then we need to provide him with the crosses and IMO that means playing A.Johnson on the left and Milner on the Right. I would even consider SWP on the right before going with Mario again.

We also need are full backs to be able to defend as too many times Kompany and Lescott are pulled out of position to cover for them, which leaves the centre with no defence.

Still hopefull for Saturday as long as Mancini gets the right players in the right positions, play Silva behind Dzeko with Milner and Johnson providing the crosses and Yaya and De Jong in front of CB.

Re: Tevez's Injury

Where is everybody getting this 'torn hamstring' from, if he had torn his hamstring he would not have been able to or allowed to work off. From personal experience, it is a very painful injury which stops you from walking. If as I hope as I hope it was just a tweek of the hamstring, which I had a couple of weeks ago, then a few days rest will suffice and then he will be able to train. Ok I only play amataur football but the injury's are the same..................here's to hoping

Would it be too much to expect City fans to get behind the team for the next few weeks?

We know it's a hamstring injury - but Mancini said we need another 2 weeks to get Tevez fit so the initial hope is 3 weeks.

He hasn't looked in great shape for the last 6 weeks, and this will take a little more toll on his body.

Huge blow given that Dzeko is useless without crosses and we have no one who can cross the ball apart from Kolarov. and Balotelli is too young to lead the line

Jo returns, or we play Kolarov on the left of midfield and Dzeko up front with Milner wide right.

But Milner has been played out of position almost all season.

Rapidly coming to the conclusion that Mancini lost his job when he signed Dzeko. Sadly I think that's how it's going to end up, and City are going to remain the laughing stock of football. Wish we could just get on with the league now and forget Wembley

we are the laughing stock of football already with this clown.

everyfootball fan I either speak to or hear mocks us "all that money and you play crap football" "god city are boring" "your manager is so boring, how can you spend all that money and be boring"

will we be the laughing stock of football is we got jose, boa or hiddink?

I doubt it.
