Thank you Riyad Mahrez | Officially left City (pg17)

A strange signing, I was surprised we signed him, I never saw that coming. He's done well for us, memorable moments and kept us in games at important times.

But I always thought he was a place we could improve, like Sterling. And I look fw to seeing what the club have planned.

Best first touch of most players btw.

I was absolutely delighted when we signed him. I thought he would be our Salah. Maybe I expected too much, but I don’t think he lived up to those expectations.

He’s been a good player, in a great side and at times shown flashes of someone who had the ability to be something really special. However, I don’t think he produced consistently enough for someone with his talents and ultimately became a squad player, rather than the nailed-on starter he should have been.

£30m for someone of his age is too much to turn down and it’s a good deal all round. I thank him for his contributions and wish him well for the future. For City, I don’t see this being the end of the world. I think we already have better options (Foden, Bernie) for the position at the club.

It’s all been said great player, but for some reason it’s not that disappointing he is leaving. The only issue I see is that he is really liked in the dressing room which is an important part of our squad. Good luck

Been a huge success at City and managed to shrug off that penalty miss against Liverpool with some fantastic and important goals and performances. Like others have said, he never complained when not starting, a proper professional and seemingly popular in the dressing room too.

The move suits both parties as getting 30 million for a 32 year old is very decent business, while Riyad gets a mega money contract towards the end of his career.

Thanks and best wishes Mahrez.

P.s I don't think you'll need your gloves pal
