Anyone here old enough to remember Alan Ogley? Signed from Stockp't County but was too small and wore contact lenses. A deadly combination for a keeper. Replaced by another keeper from the same source, pretty boy Mulhearn who wasn't too great either even though the outfield players won him a champions medal. Neither of them were a patch on Harry Dowd who saw them both off. My opinion only.

Harry "the plumber" Dowd...word has it he used to turn up on matchdays on his push bike complete with plumbers kit and a few lengths of quarter inch copper pipe. He was brilliant.

On the other hand the worst keeper for me qa Keith McCrae. Always remember in the early / mid 7o's away against Coventry, A shot came thundering at him and he turned his back and held his head in harms to protect himself. Evers since then I never gave him a chance.... I was only about 13/14 so he may have played some blinders... but for me his copy book was well and truly blotted.

EDIT: BTW Ortega is a great keeper (so is he hanging around with Trafford coming back)?
