Thanks for filling Wembley....you're banned!

Something still doesn't add up here. If he's advertised them for sale on his own Facebook page, how the hell have City and/or Wembley found out? Surely it was far easier for them to find out exactly who was selling tickets via that FB ticket page? There were loads popping up on there last week so it stands to reason that anyone advertising tickets for sale on there would be getting tracked down and banned instead of someone advertising on his own personal FB page that only his friends and family know about? Unless there is someone with a grudge on his friends list who has grassed him up, I can't see how City or Wembley could've found out.
Not an expert but at a guess if his Facebook profile was public, they may well have bots scanning Facebook & Twitter looking for things like that. The established City ticket FB page is members only (although it wouldn't take a great deal of effort to get on there if you really wanted to).

One of the reasons why we tell people not to put mobile numbers or email addresses on here is because there are always loads of bots looking at this site and they could easily be picked up and used by spammers.

So if he did advertise tickets on facebook and then bought a pair, you still can't prove they were sold on to a third party. Seems daft, maybe an informal "we noticed you were advertising tickets, don't do it again!" email would suffice.

@Prestwich_Blue Please pardon my ignorance but what is a 'bot'?
It's basically a software application that can go onto websites & carry out various tasks far quicker than humans can. So when popular tickets go on sale, touts use bots to grab them quickly. Another application is watching auctions on Ebay and putting in bids at the last minute. They're also used to harvest email addresses/mobile numbers etc.

Wow, thank you, I thought it must be some kind of robot as Corky says but for me Robots are visible........ I remember when we first got computers in our school, it was a BBC and we had to learn how to program them ourselves and I did a 12 month secondment getting a DASE in Educational Computing but boy they have so moved on now. It's scary but exciting.
Thank you @Prestwich_Blue (it's like that turning blue so that you know I've responded to you a little bit isn't it) :-)

Absolute crazy, I know for a fact City gave a junior football club 30 tickets on Friday night and transport to Wembley without knowing who was getting the tickets, madness !

I won't say which game it was but there was someone sat in front of me at a game a little while ago who worked for one of our commercial partners and was an opposition fan. City had given them four tickets for the game and he decided to use one of them. Fortunately he was sensible and because of who he worked for we had a few mutual acquaintances. But it could have been four lippy opposition fans.

City very quick to ban season card holders for very little but let in journalists for free (and provide them with lavish refreshments) despite them writing lies and fake news to undermine the club. Easy targets , I suppose?
