Thanks Yaya

Thanks Yaya. Phenomenal player in his prime. Achieved alot for us and this was when we only started out as a footballing force after the takeover which makes it more valuable. Pity he has some controversial moments, although never on the ethical or moral level of the so called footballing greats like giggs, that caused some fans to turn on him.

All the best to the big guy.

Mixed feelings on Yaya, 8 seasons he has been here it’s felt like he only turned up for the first 4.

A lot of people talk about the fa cup semi final as one of his greatest moments for us. My favourite was Newcastle away in 2012 when Mancini unleashed him with the usual getting De Jong on the pitch. He bagged that first and we all knew we had the momentum to go lift the trophy on the final day of the season.

He was unplayable when we lifted the trophy again in 2014, Crystal Palace away bulldozing forward to score and set one up for Dzeko. Knew we were back in the hunt again.

I don’t know if it was Yaya’s fault or Pelllegrini’s that we never saw him go near those standards. We seemed to really go backwards after 2014 and Pellegrini kept playing him in a 2 man midfield and we would get destroyed through Yaya’s lack of work rate off the ball.

The cake gate saga really blotted his copy book and really we should have cashed in when his stock was high in hindsight as we didn’t achieve anything since 2014 until now.

A giant of a player in the early years and a shadow of a player ever since. Will be sorely missed and hope he can pop up and score in the next few games to sign off with.

This about sums it up for me too. You have to be thankful for the big man and what he has done for the club, but his chance to leave an untarnished legacy was ruined by him and his bell end of an agent.

That said, I could never wish him anything but the best.

Yaya scored some incredibly crucial goals....maybe the two at Newcastle in 2012 were the most important with just one game left. Zabaleta got a lovely farewell last season and I hope the fans give Yaya a great send off at the Brighton game.

As time progressed under Pellegrini the fitness of the whole team seemed to steadily decline and it hit Yaya the most

He had his moments last season albeit in a team that was past its best, particularly at the back. He wouldn’t have got an extension otherwise.

Thank you ya ya the goal against villa had me on my feet applauding and just thinking wow! Helped change us into what we are today you are a legend big man

Absolutely collosal player.

Untouchable whenever the mood took him.

Leading figure in the revolution of this club and the delivery of the long awaited trophies.

Fucking legend.

It’s been a weird situation, completely ostrised by Pep at the beginning then came back into the fold for Palace away. Then Gudongan getting injured ment he got the opportunity to play more.

This season something hasn’t been right as he has been no where near the bench and Pep telling the press that Yaya hasn’t prepared or isn’t ready to play. The openings he produced against Swansea and the fact he came on the pitch at West Ham and had more touches than their entire team showed what he can do.

Hope he can score in the next few games.
