Just got back from Spain, went down for my evening meal in the hotel and some jobsworth stopped me entering the restaurant in shorts because it was hotel policy. That's me done with Spanish hotels, self catering for me from now on.

Ok guys and girls I posted this to save anyone having to go through 4/5 hours of being made to look like a proper numpty, have a bit of common will you. As some of your remarks make you look no better than the guy who turned me away. Think about that for a minute.

Why didn't you buy a pair of trousers and get changed in the bogs at City Sq instead of getting changed in front of everyone?
And why don't you just send an email to complain? They'll probably send you some complimentaries when they hear how distressed you were

Where can I find this dress code? I’m in hospitality and wear trackie bottoms to the match. However I am a wheelchair user and trackies are convenient for my carer should I need the loo. I guess that’s why nobody has ever questioned my dress?

Honest question. (I have no idea of the answer, not being rich enough to go in the corporate areas.)

Is there a specific dress code written down somewhere? For example, in the t&c attached to the ticket? If not, then it just seems a random and arbitrary thing that the staff can enforce. If, for example, it just says 'smart casual dress' that is wide open to interpretation.
