Am I missing something here and please correct me if I am but haven't then known that Petrov has been ill for some time? So why did they clap all the way through 19 minutes in a league cup match away at the etihad?

We don't do it through 23 minutes and god rest his soul Foe actually passed away?

And don't get me started on the cheeky cnuts singing no respect. I lost all respect for villa fans who I had a lot for previously.

I think Villa fans' reactions to our non-clapping, was merely banter.

As for the clapping for Petrov on the 19 minute mark, it comes across to me as a 'good luck / we are thinking of you' kind of message. Fair play to them. I thought they were only going to perform it one game but I was obviously wrong.

In my opinion, Villa fans are a good bunch on the whole. I don't just base my opinion on them visiting Maine Road / The Etihad and our visits to VP. I was also taken to several games at VP by my Villa supporting friends, when I had the misfortune of living in Walsall for a couple of years.

They have decided to do it every game to show support for him. What's wrong with that?

Nothing, its their choice.
We should'nt have to suffer their indignation, it sounded real enough to me, because we choose not to join in.

At present rates all Dippers games will have a memorial service, Norwich will cremate John Bond in a semi Hindu ceremony on the halfway line and his ashes sprinkled on the faithful and all numbers of players in history who have ever been injured will be retired. Lastly, the 'handshake' will be replaced by a group cuddle.
I just think its going too far in general.

I was just answering his first point. He said don't get him started on them singing "No respect".

My point is who the fuck are they to tell us we have no respect when we don't clap all the way through 19 minutes?

For one we had no idea what it was for and for two its a pretty ludicrous idea.

If that was your point why did you ask us not to get you started on it?

Oh I feel for you. I've been stuck here longer than I care to remember. God I hate this place.

Put yourself in their shoes. Adored club captain suffers through leukaemia. Perfectly understandable that they're touchy.

Espanyol still have a minutes applause on the 21st minute every game for Daní Jarque. I think both of these are great, shows respect to people who are important for their club

Met a few of them in the Waldorf when I was over for the 4-0 (Mario hat trick) game a couple of years ago. They seemed a sound bunch. Then again, these blokes and lasses were of the older variety, and some of the younger Villa fans might be a bit more lippy.
