Shay makes me feel like I did when i was a kid and we had Joe Corrigan in net. Very very safe.
 
If memory serves me right (notoriously shocking) big Joe was crap until he was sent to play with a rugby team, he learnt how to catch a ball (egg shaped) and it toughened him up catching a ball through a ruck of players. Shay seems to be an excellent shot stopper but if there was one thing which has me on the edge of my seat it is his inability to come out and catch the ball when in the danger area. PS This is not a idiot.

agreed- in retrospect and having read his biography. but i was a 7 year old kid with no real grasp of the game at that stage, and he was a giant in my eyes. my memory is also shocking- so i've probably forgot his gaffes and just remember his great saves an inate sense of being safe with him in goal . in reality we probably weren't as safe as i felt. :)
