That was such a frustrating match!!!

In contrast to the Villa game where I advocated caution I felt that after we equalised we should have pushed on and brought on Ireland. I have no idea why we sat back and invited trouble.

I think Hughes got it wrong today.

Agreed with all of that . Today Hughsey got it wrong but TBF to him he was forced to make changes once our best player pulled out injured before the game started.

Thought the whole defence was doing quite well until Zab had a brain fart, but we still adapted pretty well to the reshuffle. Richards and Lescott looked pretty solid to me.

Zab alround played quite well, the first one was a non-booking, totally shite decision by the ref, the second one was a shit decision by Zab.

Ade quiet, Tevez run alot, some good moments but gave the ball away a bit, understandable i think with all the travel.

De Jong and Barry exactly what you expect from them, did well. SWP unlucky not to have a penalty, a few good crosses, a few blind alleys and crap crosses, mixed bag.

Managed to miss Petrovs goal, he was ok, fairly quiet, some poor corners and free-kicks though.

RSC when he came, will no doubt get slagged again for his slip, but he played a brilliant long ball out to Petrov when we were trying to hit on the break.

Four things stood out for me:

1) That was a good result, all things considered
2) Shaun was excellent
3) I still haven't seen a single second from RSC that makes me think I was wrong about him being a terrible buy
4) Wiley hates us, clearly. He had no option but to get the red out for Pablo, but the first booking was nonsensical. And that was a definite pen but he wouldn't have given it if the defender had used a machete to hack off Shaun's legs.

Missed Bellamy or Robinho to make something happen, I imagine Ireland would have got on sooner had Wiley not been a ****.

Thought Tevez did well too. And Barry and Nigel.

That's now way more than four things that stood out.

Frustrated, but those are games we used to lose.

My thoughts exactly.
The Melchiot "tackle" was horrendous could have been a red and I can't recall him getting booked. Much worse than the Thomas and Zaba first booking.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on the pk because it took about three slow motion replays to convince me that SWP was fouled.
Overall I'm not too displeased with a point there with 10 men against 12.

The most frustrating thing is seeing the capitulation of richards.... man he's dog shit. Don't think i've seen a player fall from grace quicker....maybe frannie jeffers. Sentiment no more, simply not good enough.

What the bloody hell did Richards do wrong today?

Think you are being a bit harsh. We played a team that will fly the white flag a week before they play Trafford, but will come out against the likes of us and Chelsea as if it was a cup final.
We have still only lost one game this season and it's only gonna get better, so get a few beers down and have a drink to the very near trophy laden future.

Big decisions. Didn't give the Shauny pen. Booking of Zab's 1st half was a joke. Nice one Wiley - another sh*t performance refereeing City.

But not his fault. We were distinctly average. 1st half poor, 2nd half not bad. Some of those players do my head in.

Last season, Hughes said that it was the second half of the season where his strengths come into play. I expect as the season wears on, the depth within the squad will come more into play and we will see some staggering top class performances where the majority of chances created result in a goal.

So far this season, I think we have not had a performance where all eleven, twelve, or thirteen used have performed to full potential. It will come.

I have oceans of patience, been waiting a while, can wait a little longer.

I am struggling to understand the praise that SWP is getting on here. Today was exactly the same as every other game he has had recently! Why he is no longer able to beat a man is beyond me, maybe it has something to do with him not understanding that unless you are Slimer from Ghostbusters it is physically impossible to go through the the left back, maybe you should try going around the full back Shauny? Just an idea! As it stands his 2nd touch is always a tackle and it pains me to say this because I was delighted when we re-signed him but on current form he is not good enough.
