Thanks for the reply mate, im learning more and more.

I struggle to understand why people hate her so much though.
Because she hated socialism and all the attitudes it stood for. She made no bones about it and set out to destroy it. Blair was her proudest creation. So if you were a socialist you hated her because she hated you.

Scargill thought he could beat her and she destroyed him and his industry. So the miners hated her.

She had no time for inefficient loss-making industries and felt that their survival was a matter for the market. So the skilled workers who lost their jobs and didn't have any other comparable jobs to go to hated her. The fact is this probably would have happened anyway but it was on her watch it happened so she got the blame.

People don't generally like conviction politicians but with her it all seemed to be about ideology and there was a sense that she didn't care who suffered as long as she achieved what she wanted.

She had a scientific mind.

I honestly believe she was completely incapable of empathy.

Thanks mate, it seems that a load of people my age in their early twenties are jumping on the bandwagon and are saying/tweeting disgusting things about her when they really know fuck all.

Im trying to learn about it before i start running my mouth so yoyr comments are appreciated.

That happens when anybody pops it TBH. There are always idiots.

When you are learning don't miss the impact on peoples lives. It was not just numbers and percentages. Industry was in the crapper but PEOPLE were the ones to suffer not institutions.

She set out to do a job, she did that job very well. Your view on what is important in life will colour whether you thought she did the right job.

There are a lot of sheep like people who just like to be with the crowd although there is some good reasoned debate in this thread when you strip out hype

baa
how could it be any other way, she despised the regions, she very nearly succeeded in shutting Rolls-Royce, yet propped up BA, she rushed the closure of big industries, yet took controls off the financial sector, she squandered North sea oil on tax cuts, and she did it all with a sneer. A one trick pony, kept in power by murdoch. May be you had to be there, may be all those thrown on the scrap-heap, and those who had houses repossessed were just band-wagoners but i dont believe that was the case.
PB managed to condense 11 years into a paragraph, i am putting a few points to try and show the reasons why she is loathed so deeply

I know mate, a bloke i work with now was working in an office in london at the time and he thinks shes the best thing since sliced bread.

But im sure if you were a miner in yorkshire you would have a different view.

I think overall what she did was for the best, in the end.

If it was 1975 now id be working on a building site or in a factory, but im working in an office as a trainee manager.

still though, il be looking more into it.

Again, what are you looking at? we have an attitude in the nation that we should look after No1. Bankers did this, tax dodgers do this, benefit cheats do this.

She implemented this so well that we actually believe it is possible. Look at the company you are working for, do they preach teamwork and collaboration for the good of the company or do you all look out for yourselves?

You also cannot say what you would be doing in 1975 or anything like "if she had not done XYZ we would be doing abc". Lots of things, good and bad, would have happened regardless of this woman and we cannot predict what might have happened.

Well try going back a few pages and a poster who has studied and gained a first in politics gives his view. Kinda knows what he's on about. I think he goes by the name Skasion. Seems to know shit from strawberries.

I watched that channel 4 nonsense before and it was more one sided than the 1-6 at the Swamp. I thought Goebbels had wrote it about Adolf. When Kelvin MacKenzie is in your corner you must know you were a twat.

Are people incapable of making up their own minds? the reason why a lot of people look after no 1 is because it is what they want to do, if they didn't have this attitiude they would rebel against it

The left struggle with the notion that some people want their money spent in a better way and are too keen to brandish anyone who disagrees with them as heartless selfish bastards

Ok chaps im going to piss off and learn a bit more lol

Thanks for the info.
