There’s was first and only Treble of the last Century, ours is first and only - so far - of the 21st Century. I’ll take that. 21st Century boys.
I was only playing mate :)Wow, that’s the first time in my life someone’s called me a rag hahahaha
I know way too much about football mate. I arm myself with this knowledge so I can ruin them all with facts. It stops me from trying to beat the fuck out of someone for lying.
Here s one for you, their current position of 3rd with 75 pts, is only 4 behind their treble team they always go on about. That will deflate them!!!We’d finished as Champions the season before, we beat them to win the FA Cup. Reasons why I insist on rag mates bestowing the name on ‘our’ treble. Their reaction to my request was a delight.
I chucked in ‘more goals, fewer conceded’ I didn’t actually check but sure it would the case.
Any other reasons why ours is the ‘Proper’ treble. Just thought of another…….
First Manchester Club!
They keep going on about being the 1st to do The Treble , they were not even the 2nd or 3rd to do itThere’s was first and only Treble of the last Century, ours is first and only - so far - of the 21st Century. I’ll take that. 21st Century boys.
I’m going to “revise” these stats and muller the rags who a few of us Blues are playing golf with on Sunday, we’ve already schooled them on WhatsApp but fuck me those stats are compelling, cheers.Got sent this which I think answers all the questions mate -

Proper knocked of his perchI heard emu was a blue and knocked him off the roof with a tv aerial
That's great - from now on, ours is to be known as The Perfect Treble, as it has to be done by the existing and previous domestic champions.Just call it the Champions Treble and when they claim to have won one, that’s when the fun starts.
On your point about -Utd didn't have a monopoly on winning the PL.You could argue that the competition, back then, was much more of a level playing field, if not heavily weighted towards Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus who had unlimited spending power, and bought all the best players in the world.
United didn't have a monopoly on winning the PL. Infact, weren't even champions of England in the treble season. And Bayern Munich were the favourites going into that game.
Also, it was a feat that was accomplished with 7 academy players. 6 of them from Greater Manchester.
This makes the 99 treble a fairly unique occurrence, that probably will never be matched.
