The 2012 Olympics Thread - Its Over :(

Re: The 2012 Olympics Thread (6th August, Page 172)

New concept by BBC in Olympic Broadcasting tonight! They put on the whole of the Womens Pole Vault Finals (about 2 hours) without any commentary at all.
You could hear the crowd, you could even her the dialogue between the athletes and their coaches, but it seems who ever was supposed to be doing the commentary for the Beeb must have been urgently required to cover the Pony Trecking for friends of the Royal Family events we are all so proud to have won Team GB medals in ?

Bloody hell I feel old :-(
I remember Nick Skelton when he was in his 20's and he rode that horse over the biggest wall I have ever seen.
Didn't realise that he had broken his neck in recent years either.
I remember Harvey Smith.

Me too.

And David Broome. Not quite old enough to remember Marion Mould though ;-) Was that her name??

If you go to those Sky channels from about 450 onwards a lot of them have been like that with no commentary just the crowd noise.

Coming from the emerald isle (even if it is Dublin!), you'd want to be careful about mentioning bananas after last night. The BM lynch mob will hunt you down!!
