The 39th anniversary of the "Good Friday Disagreement" between Oldham & City fans

There was a quality account of it in this book. Lost my copy many moons ago :-( Would be good if someone could post the page 7D9FB5FA-ADF1-46BA-BE60-A8324E8D3544.jpeg

Blackburn away that 83-84 season had City all over the stadium, with a fair bit of trouble too.

Jesus time flies, got to the ground 15 mins before kick off, it was chaos at the big open terrace, hundreds climbing over the walls, ended up in the chadderton end loads of trouble going on. Probably the biggest away following i have ever seen City take, certainly bigger than the promotion at Blackburn.
But not York

Was that very early season and we went briefly top with a 1-0 win?

I’m picturing a bloodied DD leading a raiding party from the side terrace back to the City end to a standing ovation.

We must have taken a similar amount to the boxing day game at Stoke

84/85 season kinsey goal nearing the end of the season, whatever we always take a huge following to Ewood.

The first season there we lost. 2-1 I think. Loads of our lads were in the big side terrace and also in the Blackburn end. It kicked off in the Blackburn end so the lads in the side terrace- the riverside stand is there now- were jumping over the fence and running to join in. I didn’t see DD but I bet he was there because it was all the Mayne Line lot.

The next season we won 1-0 to go top. There was less trouble at that one.

Steve kinsey goal? can still remember it kicking off with loads of city fans in the blackburn end, then city fans pulling fellow blues back into our end when they’d been marched round the pitch off the police! fair play if dd was one of them we pulled back into the darwin end :), the aftermath when a burnley train pulled into blackburn station was also “interesting “ ;)

Remember it very well, I was working for Oldham council at the time, with the bloke who put the ladder in place. He was called Ray, second name escapes me Drogby or summat. Our lot were also climbing over the fence between the Rochdale Rd end and the main stand when a latics director in a suit appeared and started shouting "GET DOWN" in that daft accent they have. As if they did..!
Not sure if it was the same day but I also remember being kept in at the end and a recently erected fence at the back collapsed with the pressure and we all escaped into the car park. Work on the following Monday was a good laugh with a couple of their fans expressing their disgust as I taunted them about it. Great memories..!

Still cracks me up today when the ladders were brought in and Blues climbed into, and took over the upper level seating in the stand to the right of the away fans.

Carnage that day!
Absolutely hilarious day with antics with the ladders. Memorable day out. Shame that Bob Carolgees had to take edge off it by scoring for them in a 2-2 draw.
