The 6-1. Was it such a good thing?

If in May we lift the title because our goal difference is one better than theirs, then we won't be doubting the merits of 6-1.

Bit strong, it has some logic to it.

There is no logic to it. It is a thing to treasure in and of itself. There are NO downsides.

Absolutely. For all the reasons (substantiating it) above and vindicating my POV (for the last 2 seasons) that we should never have a STARTING LINEUP with a designated holding midfielder occupying a CENTRAL and most important position (CENTRAL MIDFIELDER) who can't be a multi-dimensional deep playmaker or attacking midfielder and who cannot strike.

It also shows that our season's winning streak at the halfway mark that has led us to top the table by 5 points was no fluke.

That we have a deep squad (demolition derby's subs - Nasri, Dzeko, Kolarov ) to complement or can be in the starting 11 JUGGERNAUT.

That Milner & Barry are a great dynamic duo when they are in the starting lineup without the encumberance of having ( de Jong) or either being a designated holding m/f.

Is it a coincidence then that besides the above duo we have also seen Silva been awesome (unleashed) without having our midfield stalled or our strikers scoring freely with our rapid strikeforce.

Yes its a good thing for it not only exposed the scums' average side but also reveals our squad's weaknesses or liabilities and strengths.

At the end of the day we gained admiration and plaudits from old and new football fans ( excluding the scums) and vindicated justifying our owner's faith & investment in buying our CLUB.

No we won't I agree. But if we lose out by a point then we could equally say that the points we dropped at Sunderland & West Brom were crucial and would they have put 10 men behind the ball if they hadn't been so frightened of us?

Apart from QPR, which was a close run thing, we haven't won away since.

Best day ever as a City fan and I think you are all thinking too deep about it we did well afterwards and remembered it was only 3 points and won us nothing

BUT to give the rags a beating like that in their own back garden was magic and I wouldnt change a thing (well maybe a 7th)

Take it Take it Take it you scum barstools Take it 6 times YES

There is no logic to it.

why would anyone consider beating your closest rival 6-1 a bad thing.

Teams have sat back at Eastlands all season, result, a home record of 10-0-0. The last two home matches we have been attacked in the first half and have conceded 3 in one half and one to liverpool resulting in two losses.

United as an example sat back second half and we scored two.

Matches are the same all over the world, if you dominate possession, force the opposition onto the back foot more often than not you win the game.

He's not saying it's a bad thing he's just saying that there could be a down side to it. He's suggesting that teams won't play as expansively against us than they maybe would have done before the 6-1.

We scored 20 goals in the first 5 away games in the Prem. We've played 5 games since the 6-1 and scored 5 goals.

These stats can be seen as an illustration of the OP's initial point. Just because you disagree doesn't mean the OP's argument lacks logic.

Yes the no logic bit was a bit harsh, but you are right I still dont agree. We have had more than enough chances to win those games of football, the difference being Dzeko, Silva, Aguero etc missed chance after chance in those games. Its called losing a bit of form nothing more nothing less.

Teams fearing us will only benefit the team in the long term just like it has clubs like chelsea and united over the years who have possessed tremendous home records as teams turn up expecting to get beaten.

As I stated earlier this team wasnt designed to be put under pressure, for players like Nasri, Silva they would much prefer a defence to retreat than being hassled cajoled higher up the pitch.
