The 9320/We Are The North Stand - A Supporter Section

Yes we do.

The purpose of this thread is to bring together a like-minded group of people who share a joint vision for the North Stand. This will allow for constructive discussion, without it being derailed by the recurring arguments seen in the other thread about which part of the ground is superior.

Several posters have repeatedly suggested, “If you want people to move to the North Stand, then create your own group.” This thread is exactly that.

Providing a dedicated thread is a reasonable and appropriate way to give those discussions a defined platform, rather than trying to do so without a platform.

Might be an idea for the club to not sell any full seasoncards in the new safe standing area for the first season and have a few tester games. Many wont want to gamble with moving just in case it ends up dead or the facilities arent as good as ss1. If seasoncards there are sold cheaply to anybody from the start, I doubt the atmosphere will be any better...just people wanting the cheapest seats. Important to get this right so maybe take a bit of time

@EastMidlandsBlue, well said, you were spot on with your comments

This thread is set up with the sole purpose of fans/supporters who want the same atmospheric home end in the newly expanded North Stand

This is your thread. I only set it up after seeing all the arguments going on in the atmosphere 25/26, and thought nothing was going to change

To create an atmospheric home end, we need to look at what worked elsewhere and apply it to our stadium

All idea suggestions are welcome, as I said, it's your thread

This is all fine, and a good idea. It can’t be just a Bluemoon thing though there are thousands of fans that don’t do Bluemoon and many don’t do social media.

That’s up to the club to inform them.

Are the club doing that?

I don’t think the are.

SS3 seasoncard

Happy to move so long as price is comparable as

Still pisses me off we have to relocate for cup games especially when playing smaller clubs who fill their support with cartel fans

Probably 30% of Exeter fans would have been on a weekend trip to Manchester to take in the rags game today, who they normally support

Long journey, 2 defeats in 2 days, hope it was worth it and brings a smile

Not a chance that that doesn't happen bud.

At 10pm on a Sunday? Probably not, however they have said that there'll be more info "early this year". Unless you're going to claim again that the club are lying.

4 of us definitely moving up there, been in NS0 for 3 seasons now, after relocation from good seats in the CB, mainly for the grandson who was 2 when he started coming, I bloody hate it down the front, awful view, but it keeps him happy.
Keeping an open mind on where, no point wondering what if, even considering the GA+ if I can justify cost & the lad starts paying for his own.
For us, the SS would work best in terms of matchday habits, and I totally understand anyone not wanting to shift over, if you get the bus in, or live close enough to walk & meet family/friends, nip in Mary’s or the Townley, and grab a chippy, then a couple in the SS & enjoy the concourse atmosphere before the match, you ain’t swapping that for something you’re not sure of.
But I miss what we had before, with Summerbee’s & all that, and I’m hoping we get some of that back with the new facilities.
I also hope the club & relevant groups can find solutions to their differences, as it will only truly work (in the short term at least) if common ground is found, the club really does need to get this right, it’s on them, and it is a once in a generation opportunity

Definitely happy to move up from tier 0 back around the lower seats of the new North Stand in the top tier where we used to sit.Never wanted to move from Level 2 a few years ago but had too ,now we have to move from level 0.Just another note on the newer younger fans in the bottom tier of the family stand, they do try to get some singing going at some games.

Sorry and I hope I'm wrong, but I do think this will be a waste of time and energy. The brand new stand is just months from opening and we've seen the seating / standing areas planned for it. Safe standing at the very back and down parts of the sides. the rest is seating and large blocks of VIP areas. Not a chance of getting a singing section going. This is very much a corporate stand with a few 'real' fans to offer atmosphere for the tourists.

Anyway never mind asking people to relocate, Let's look at what we have already. I'd be asking our fans in the bottom tier of the South Stand if they are aware of kick off times? Oh yes, they are packed in when the chance to leg it onto the pitch comes around, but for the last season and a half the gaps at the 80th minute onwards and almost empty central sections at the start and end of games is embarrassing from our so called core passionate fans.

Time to realise that apart from 3-4 games a season, the atmosphere will stay flat, we used to have some cracking songs to sing, now we have barely any. However when needed the atmos is great.

For me, we complain that the singers are spread between the bottom and top sections of the South stand. Wait until the singing is further split when a few relocate to the NS, I can only see it getting worse.

Why should that happen though?

Spurs, Arsenal, villa, Leeds, Chelsea and loads of other clubs have singing ends at both ends of the ground. we’ve got more than enough people willing to stand and join in.

There are no VIP or corporate sections in the new tier. There aren’t even any kind of hospitality seats.

GA+ is just a tiny bit jazzier than normal GA seats.

I do think a lot want to stay in south stand just for the sake of being near the away fans? But might need to suck it up just to relocate for the better atmosphere at the stadium instead of standing goading away fans.
Goading away fans does nothing to inspire our team! The North stand needs to be filled with City fans wanting to make an atmosphere. The South stand is barely heard, I assume because of the end is not ours and sections are split. This coupled with the better acoustics in the North Stand will provide a much improved atmosphere

It’s funny. We want things, we get them, we find reasons not to choose them.

The atmosphere at City is often lacking, to say the least, most games, unless there is a particular situation that warrants it.

“Blue Moon” rarely even gets going anymore and just peters out. “We’re not really here” seems to be the most rousing song in the dated repertoire, but there you go. Let’s sing about Zaba one more time, or maybe Yaya and Kolo?

Away game atmosphere seems to be streets ahead of the Etihad. Wonder why?!!

The North Stand is one last chance to have that “wall of sound,” but there seem to be myriad personal reasons why some just can’t walk around the ground, not go to the same bar, or whatever!

Maybe, some of this is on the club for not simply laying out “X,xxx seats are for a safe standing/singing area. This is the chance for mates to finally get tickets together, for younger Blues to move to a singing area where they can stand without worrying about Stewards or people complaining they can’t see, and we are going to provide the best pre-match conditions in the country for the fans with our covered mix zone.

You asked, we answered. Let’s do it!”

I like East L2 cushy seats, but I’m an FOC who doesn’t want to stand all game, and sits with his disabled brother, but am happy to join in the singing when we get going!

I often wonder if people in the south stand actually realise how quiet they sound to the rest of the ground.

I doubt it, otherwise they'd probably all be rushing to this new stand!

The other thing about our current singing section(s) is they are in an absolute shit location for seeing the game or watching the action.

In fact, when we are kicking towards the North Stand, they see Gvardiol & O’Reilly & Gigi fucking around with the ball more than anything, but at least they get to watch Foden take corners in the first half!!

The North Stand will give the best views of the entire pitch and will give them the chance to be around many more like-minded supporters.

Oh well…

I think it depends on the game. Last season against Bournemouth - KDBs last game is the loudest I’ve heard south stand level 1 in a long time. So they can make noise, it’s just not consistent anymore and it seems to be split up between the block next to the away fans and a block near the corner flag

I’m hoping not being near the away fans means more classic city chants come back and the rest of the ground join in. Even bluemoon is lacklustre now
