That was one strange MOTD. I only one arched us but after being ignored on the news and with the ugly couple Shearer and Chuckle 2 in the studio followed by Pearce's first words of Lescott being dumped it was set up to have a pop at us.........but not even a mention of Joe's poor punch or our 'close'pen. Unbelievable.
On a game front the WBA's no.9 was credited with the goal but was offside, if it hit him and he gets the goal he's offside surely.

Yeah you're right, he was offside
Considering the conditions and the fact it was a tiny deflection I can't really blame the officials for missing it

I caught the "dumped by City" comment and I thought it was poor. Who ever has ever had that term said about them when playing a team that sold/let you go. Jeff Stelling was just as bad yesterday going on about our "controversial" penalty when it was nothing of the sort. Note in the MOTD interview with pardew nothing said about the penalty they should have had at 0-0.

On MOTD last night, during the rags' game, the commentator said something like "They are talking about winning the title this season. That seems unlikely but at least they are talking about it again."
Had that been us, the next line would have been "So they should be with all the money they've spent!" But not a mention of money in their case. The last 5 seasons there's barely anything between the net spend of us, Chelsea and them.

I think this is what annoys people the most, we all know that the sports media is biased to a degree mainly because of commercial pressures, when the old top 4 dominated they sucked up a lot of support from around the country and even though things are different they are still there and they pander to them by telling them what they want to hear, the biggest example was Liverpool last season it was just so blatant.
Although reading the media review on the OS this morning, even they seemed a bit shocked at the glowing plaudits that were given to us about yesterdays game but the TV and radio seem to ignore us, constantly telling us that its Chelsea s year and even that the Rags could do it hardly a mention of the current champions who are only 3 point off the top spot

If we finish first or second this season,as seems likely, our record in the last 5 seasons will be 3rd, 1st, 2nd, 1st and 1st /2nd. The media do not give us the respect or credit our record deserves.

Another line that's becoming more and more laughable, in the current first choice XIs of the three clubs mentioned the only 2 players that actually came through the academies of their current clubs are StevieGBH and John "Racist, Cuckolder, Thug" Terry.

For them buying success is not an issue, the problem is we are using money earned in a different sector of business than football.
Perhaps the media generally is secretly terrified that Sheik M. may see long term value in purchasing a run down TV station or a failing newspaper ?
