Instead they get the Premier League leaders, unbeaten in the group stage and the tournaments top scorers.

What luck PSG have.

Hahaha what a ridiculous post

There isn't one team left in the competition that would rather play either of the Madrid teams/Bayern instead of Chelsea

The fact is PSG could have got anyone apart from Barcelona, and they ended up with a team they are more than capable of beating over two legs
Wherr did I say they would rather have played Madrid or Bayern instead of Chelsea?

Oh that's right, I didn't.

I merely stated facts about the team they did draw that show they did indeed draw a very, very tough team; a recent tournament winner as well.

The childish "laughter" is what is ridiculous

They did get a tough draw

But they couldn't play Barcelona or Monaco, so they were left with Leverkusen, Real, Atletico, Bayern, Dortmund or Chelsea

So considering all those would have been tough ties, id suggest that Leverkusen was the one they would have liked, but the percentages would tell you they would have ended up with one of the other 5

Slightly different from our point of view, we were drawn out as the second tie and could have faced any of the other 6 group winners (couldn't play Bayern) but we ended up with Barcelona, again its a tough tie but id prefer to play them over the Madrid sides

Re: so this agenda thing.

I'm starting to think there's an agenda against Barcelona now.

Huge fines, transfer embargoes, drawing the best team possible in consecutive 2nd round Champions Leagues.

Harsh....

Stop it mate or you will have all these 'agenda pushers' foaming at the mouth

Re: so this agenda thing.

Turning to domestic issues , compare the football headlines in today's Mirror:

Rags - "United make it six in a row and Van Gaal claims: We can still win the title" (positive slant, fair enough)

Dippers - " 'Sack him' sang United fans, but Rodgers is exactly the man Liverpool need" (very sympathetic)

Us - " Mistletoe & Whine. Pellegrini: My £1bn squad can't cope with Xmas fixtures." (nuff said)

Re: so this agenda thing.

The whole co-efficient and pots business annoys me as it is like a cartel protecting the elite, but lets be honest if we'd given a better account of ourselves in the 4 years of CL we would be getting close to the ones who are being protected by the co-efficient.

We've only got out of the group stage twice, this year we left it almost too late to start playing good enough to get out of the group. Yes they are "difficult groups" but we should be coasting through in second at worst and giving first place a real run for top spot, we beat Bayern at home this season and could/should have got a point away, beat CSKA home and away (as we really should've done) and we finish top and get an "easier" draw, or certainly close to top, which means if we win the "easier" draw we progress further and our co-efficient gets closer to pot one. Same with previous seasons, no one can tell me we shouldn't be beating teams like Ajax home and away, nevermind getting beat, with or without CL experience.

I'm not blaming us for the clearly favouring the status quo rules of Europe but I do blame ourselves for not doing better and therefore making it harder, it's not just the rules making it hard we are also making it hard for ourselves.

all that said it does annoy me Arsenal finished second too and got an easier draw, but lets beat Barca over-two legs and get some more of these silly co-efficent points that will make it easier in years to come.

I bet the Barca board are banging down the doors of Uefa HQ in the coming days.

"We're supposed to be part of your fucking Cartel and you keep drawing us against the best possible fucking team every year in the 2nd round. What the fuck are you playing at? Why couldn't you give us someone a bit shit. rather than that fucking lot with Aguero, Kompany, Yaya, Silva et al? Twats".

Re: so this agenda thing.

I have been reluctant to buy into this Agenda thinking but it does make you think. We always get one of the top 3 in the group stage which pretty much means the best we can hope for is 2nd place. Given that we do then we get drawn against another top team in the ko stage.

the positive is that if we can get a result at home it gives us belief for the 2nd leg, it also gives Messi a chance to get measured up for his kit next year :)

Re: so this agenda thing.

The way the competition is seeded is the only bent part of the draw. Whinging about being paired with Barcelona as though there's a mass conspiracy devalues this thread and ends up overshadowing the genuine grievances many have with the press and media and their reporting towards us.
It's a fucking great draw, obviously Monoco would have been ideal and Porto nice, but Barcelona are beatable and last year was a great trip regardless of the result. Can't wait for it.
