The Album Review Club - End of Round #9 Break (page 1904)

One thing I forgot to say @RobMCFC is that the album is a mixed bag. It's not very "together" and doesn't tell a story. It mixes 60s psychedelia with 80s synth pop. Normally I'd punish an album for it, but in a way I also like it because it's like a Greatest Hits haha!

All fair point from you and @OB1 though!
I think we all have quirky and unusual albums in our collection when, if people got to know what we liked, would stand out as being strange or oddball choices. I was happy to listen to this, but I fully admit that I'm a harsh critic - I really struggle to appreciate anything, in any genre, where I feel there's a heavy reliance on electronics and studio gimmickry.

However, this album occupies a pleasant middle ground between what I like and what I really detest! I know Journolud will disagree with me, but go and give Wet Leg's album a listen. My God, that really grinds my gears!!!!

After three weeks of nearly non-stop working every day, and then vacation (holiday) in the UK where I got to see our beloved blues v those shithousers from Madrid, I'm getting back to my normal routines. So hopefully I can get through this one with the extended deadline. Cursory listening suggests fluff, but the kind of fluff I tend to like :). One thing I do like -- we had a few records on this thread and Hammer's that I described as only appropriate for Sunday mornings with coffee and a paper or 2 AM Saturday nights with a final-final bourbon and water. This is decidedly not that, which is an immediate positive.

Missed you for Rory.
