The Amazing Line Of Duty starts again tonight

Codeine can be detected in your system for 48hrs, long time to go without for someone with an addiction. We have seen him try to swap to alcohol and he didn't last the evening.

I might be talking absolute waffle but isnt Codeine an Opiate? having lots of opiates appear in your drug test might not be a good thing for an anti corruption officer!

Like I said might be talking waffle, but that's how I'm passing it off in my own head cannon

It definitely is, but is easily explained unless his levels were off the chart, which hasn’t been implied.

Could the implication not be the amount he's been taking? we've certainly been privy to how many he has been buying, he had a bread bin full of the stuff! (think it was a bread bin? or overhead cupboard?)

The only reason I'm suggesting it is because the writing has been near perfect up until this series as there's a few holes appearing in the script, though I'm waiting for the finale to say for certain, and I'm trying to explain those plot holes away!

Of course it could be. The whole idea of the series is to keep the viewer guessing all the time.

The plot twist I’m expecting is around James Nesbitt (spits). There’s no way he’s got a non-speaking role.FCF11410-9EE8-49AA-8281-2BE3AD5F3E16.jpeg

Which is why he has avoided the meeting where he will be suspended pending an inquiry.

yeah, I don't really get this element of the storyline. Almost set up for a "he knows he's on the outs so gets his bucket list done in 5 days" kind of deal. All over some painkillers when he knew he'd be tested and could have just not taken any that morning...
You have clearly never been addicted to codeine type opiates.
I have.
Believe me you cannot just not take them.

Anyway he has clearly hidden how badly his injury affected him and returned to work in not a fit state to continue without drug help.

That's the point. If they realise his physical problems he'd probably be stood down on health grounds.
