The Amazing Line Of Duty starts again tonight

I know they're trying to be accurate with regards to police procedure but FFS, do they have to go to the nth degree with everything. It's more about that than the story.
Had to laugh at the end with the voiceover during the credits explaining what CHIS means. You'd think they'd have woven it into the story so we could work it out.

I thought that they were talking about Dave Chisnell from the darts! I wondered what that had to do with a murder investigation!

The other noticeable thing was the hugely inflated proportion of women and BAME police officers compared to real life and that one of the main characters had to be gay which is standard in every single BBC drama these days. It's quite right that dramas should include BAME and gay/lesbian characters but it seems that the BBC go overboard these days to demonstrate their inclusive credentials even when it's barely relevant to the plot. Having said that, it's the same with Unforgotten on ITV.

First one I've tried to watch.
Had the air of a daytime TV drama....I'm not getting it.
Perhaps Mark E Smith was right and British TV Is shit.
It's no Spiral that's for sure.

Prime Suspect was ace back in the day....Cracker too if I recall correctly.
I watched Spiral from the start. Loved it. There's something about Catherine Proust that appeals even as she ages but always appears scruffy. They have some attractive Algerian (?) young lady detectives as well.
I am a contrary bugger who watches more foreign series than English speaking so BBC 4 and Channel 4 keep me busy.

Caroline, but yeah, not going to lie, deffo has something about her.

French women are my Achilles heel.
The redheaded lawyer is rather fit too..but I'm a few seasons behind (its a show me and the ex watched a few years ago and a lot of things happened between then and now).
Definitely catching up though.

Spiral is fantastic and both the main female characters have something about them. You can tell it's a new series cos Laure has a different hairstyle in episode one.

Second time in this thread I believe you’ve said that. You’re either Jed Mercurio, the tea boy on set or a WUM. Either way I claim my five pounds
No, I just am better read than you.
Martin Compston (Steve Arnott in the show) has said on several occasions that something earth shattering for Line of Duty fans will happen in episode 4.

Oh, fair enough. Can I still have five pounds, I’ll buy the Radio Times with it
Yes sure i will just need the long number off the front of your card expiry date cvv off the back please :)

Watched the 1st ep of S6 last night, was very much looking forward to it..... fell asleep!
Far too many numbers and acronyms being shouted into the comms. I hope this doesn't continue as it threatens to become a bit parodied. Good to see that Ted Hastings hasn't lost his immaculate hair style and I did perk up at the mention of a lesbian sub-plot!

There was one of the most wooden glass shattering (the irony) in last night's show.
It was on in the background at this stage as I had some work to do.
It's a post ironic 'The Bill'.

Is Killing Eve good....another show that gets loads of UK hype but does actually look tasty.

First couple of series were good. Regretted bothering with the third. I won't bother with the fourth when it comes on.

Felt exactly the same. Even Mrs Daze said let’s not bother watching anymore. Think it might be a series too far which is a shame it’s provided some excellent BBC drama

Shame...I do want to champion home made TV drama and we can produce some amazing stuff at times (Utopia mentioned before was quintessentially a British thing that other's can't really make).
Maybe we're better at making classy movies now....but I'm forgetting Inside No.9 (brilliant) and probably other shows too.
Maybe this and Pesky Blunders has got my goat.

There was s sketch for red nose or the teddy thing where the cast took the piss out of themselves over the acronyms. Wasn't much different to last night's episode. It's like the writers are doing an in joke that we have already seen.

Still plugging it first this morning on radio 2. Desperate.
