I cant help thinking if robinho would of had quality players around him at the time he could of been just as good as naymar. Was quick skillful took a great free kick and had all the tricks. Would of loved to see him with the players we have now.
Robinho had all the talent in the world but unfortunately not the right head on his shoulders. I'd say he was even more naturally gifted than Neymar, Neymar has that drive to want to be the best so that's what seperates them apart I feel.

Barca have stated they are going to renegotiate with messi as he won't put up with playing second to neymar.
Wonder where the money may come from ?
I saw something recently where their president claims their income has gone up €50 mill a year to €550 mill (?) and they can still announce naming rights for the revamped stadium, that'll bring in a ridiculous amount of money.

The quote I read wasn't so much the money but the wages to income ratio or something hence why they didn't sign nolito, only read it the last day or so

I'd say we still need 5 good players to push for the title. Mkhitaryan would of been a great improvement on Navas, can't believe we let the rags get him.

To all that say I'ts impossible to pretty much all our targets. What caliber of player do you think we should aim for? Leon Osman and Jermain Defoe.

Leave it out. Turning other club's signings into our failures is both groundless and small time. We HAVE good players. I'm just as excited about what Pep can do with the existing group (and youth products) as I am about new faces coming in.

With respect, I'm not sure you (and others that panic every time a rival signs a player) the seismic effect having Guardiola instead of Pellegrini as manager will have on this team.

we are at least trying to. As people on here always say transfers are amazingly complex and I guess that wth the very best which those two are it makes it even harder.

With Suarez he is undoubted quality on the pitch but there are obvious reservations which no-one can deny. The way I see it is that int he past couple of years he seems to have had some sort of off field help with his behaviour. I also think that being at a club like ours (similar in the integrity to what he is experiencing now at barca) will also help to be more settled than he was at somewhere like liverpool where, lets face it, its a media circus driven by a very high feeling of self importance that the club has and a fan base which is not only the most delusional and self righteous but also full of self pity and woe driven hysteria. He won't get that here and I think it would help him.

I said in a previous post that I thought it was strange that owners like ours would go for a person with such questionable integrity but maybe he has changed with some of the more serious stuff. We know he dives but yet again I don't think the majority of our fan base every had accepted that whereas at liverpool he was defended to the hilt when he did it.....he wouldn't get that with us or our management team/owners...I think this would help him as well.

I don't know why you think we aren't getting him (as a bid is clearly being put in) as we have a chance. I too cant see why barca would sell him but maybe financially they need to....maybe they want to make money on a 29 year old (we would get 2-3 years of absolute guaranteed goals). Maybe the Pep factor here for him is huge as well....we don't know what he thinks of Pep and Im sure that with every player considering any transfer to any club the manager and his way of playing and doing things is one of the top priorities

As for Kroos - well he is saying he doesn't want to leave real madrid but if Pogba goes there maybe something will change for him.......maybe when Pep speaks to him it will change his mind (again they have a past relationship which is very positive) so there is hope

What I am also interested in is the fact that the club and the people doing the deals MUST know how difficult these two are to get. So they must have a plan B for each.........I wonder who they are???????????????????

I was taking the piss

Because people post on a forum stating we aren't going to sign abc doesn't make it factual

Similar to when people post we are signing abc doesn't make it factual

I'd consider it a failure that we didn't even seem to be in for a player of his quality despite the fact Pep's been in the Bundesliga for 3 years and knows just how good he is. I'm sure Pep will improve most, if not all of our players, but can you see Bony, Kolarov or Navas suddenly becoming great or Toure returning to form? We need signings, regardless of who the manager is.

Anyone know why it all of a sudden got so quiet a couple of weeks back about our interest in Wendell? I could really see him flourish under Pep and with Bruno Peres on the right.. Wow.. Just wow!

Have you considered the idea that we weren't in for him because pep didnt want him?

It's not what I expected. Personally speaking, out of all the big names out there, he was the last one on my wishlist.
This :( Even though in fairness, outside of Messi he pretty much is the next best team player in the world.

Yeah I agree, Wendell from what I have seen (not much admittedly) he looks class. He is young as well and probably wouldn't cost a lot of money.
