thought this would be THE window that we went up through the gears regarding getting world class players? don't get me wrong, gundogan is world class if he stays fit and nolito for the money looks a great buy for the next 2-3 years but considering the likes of sanchez, pogba, messi, neymar etc were mentioned then its not what I guess we were kind of hoping or expecting. obviously the window is even open yet and hopefully we have some more names in before the start of the season, especially in midfield with gundogan not even fit until September. personally I`m hoping for something like:

kroos
gundogan
sane
nolito
valdes or similar
aubameyang or morata
hector or Wendell
stones

Show a bit of ambition 3 more and we have a new team.

these players get shown up at the very top level (international level)...they get shown up in europe as well so for the Clubs main aim they will get us no closer.......there isn't virtually a single English player I would have in our squad let alone our starting 11 other than Joe Hart (sterling is a very good squad player)
Rose, Dier, Walker and Sturridge wouldn't hurt the squad for sure.

Pretty sure pep could do something incredible with Dier.

Until the euros I hadn't seen Dier play much at all, but he's been extremely impressive. Seems to have a good passing range with both feet, a powerful shot and can put in strong challenges when needed. He would certainly add a physical edge to our midfield. I'd be very happy if he rocked up... unfortunately just can't see Spurs selling him, or us being prepared to spend the kind of money it would take to get him.

Is it just my impression or does our approach to transfer deals seem to have changed?
I get the feeling we are no longer getting held to ransom by unreasonable transfer demands as we have been in the recent past and holding out for what we are prepared to pay.
This is a good thing (as long as we don't get gazumped) and is sending out the right message. No doubt it reflects that with Pep we are now enough of a draw to players but are no longer a soft option to deal with.
Hope we continue along these lines with our negotiations.
I am confident we will sign Sane and Auba eventually for the right money.

What amazes me, is that I've read quotes on here during this transfer window, same as last season, on how much better the likes of Chelsea etc do their transfer business, compared to us. I would have thought that those kind of comments would be kept secret this time, after being laughed off here last season when they were left scrambling to sign Pedro last minute, whilst we bagged DeBruyne & Sterling, but a quiet period where hardly any club anywhere signs anyone of note & the same complete comedy bollocks appears.

I'm pretty sure we'll bag a few sought after players during this window. And next summer too.

Be off wiv you! Talking sense and being positive is not what the transfer forum is all about
