Here what you say, but ultimately we are a business and imo will not go stupid by paying what it takes

You don't pull the best in the business and then put limitations on what he can spend. I'm sure he will be sensible and not buy a load of shit players. I think if he wanted Pogba and pogba wanted us then I think it would get done even if that meant going over 100m with fee and image rights.
For what it's worth I'm sure our targets have been planned for a while and they know who they are and that we want them.

I think you are right... Within limits Pep will get what he wants... We have waited 3 or 4 years for him, he's putting his reputation on the line and we want to build a 5 year plus project so the foundations will be put in place.

This is absolutely, positively 100% correct with regards to the fee. This isn't the situation to make our stand. In fact this is the exact scenario where it's acceptable to get fleeced a bit.

Exactly.

I think Pep prefers a small group as Soriano mentioned. That means a lot of younger players will be promoted probably 4-5. Our squad is already quite a bit above what Pep is looking at. Except Laporte, Gundogan and maybe Sane and a goalkeeper I don't really see us doing a lot. But that is not because of the lack of not being able to but Pep liking a tight unit. However I do think we will see a big formation change and a lot of wingers/full backs out of position in his system.

Why aren't we being linked with fullbacks?
I off course don't know how Pep wants to play with City, so my only reference is what he did with Bayern in the last 3 seasons. There the setup had a very strong element of attack down the wings. First and foremost off course through Robben and Ribery and more lately Costa and Coman. But also via some really strong attacking fullbacks, injury's permitting ideally Alaba and Lahm.
Looking at our squad I think our fullbacks are solid defensively but I just can't see neither Clichy nor Sagna/Zab being strong enough going forwards to suit a Bayern-like style of play. I don't even want to think about Kolarov, who I just hope will be gone as a consequence of his attitude. So based on this it would seem to me that we ought to be looking at some new fullbacks. Sounds a bit unrealistic to expect youngsters like Angelino to jump directly into the team and start playing like Alaba.

Fabinho has been linked and seems like he could be joining us this summer

Then our young midfielders and Gungogan have to play outstandingly well because our midfield was very average last year and often easily cut though. I'm sure Pep will improve us but I think we need 1 more new player in there.

I expect Angelino is going to get his chance to impress this season down the left side.

I agree. Looking at our squad and comparing it to his Bayern team I end up with us needing 6-7 new players. In the midfield Pep often played with 1 "quarterback" - Alonso - 1 passing machine - Thiago - and 1 warrior - Vidal. I think we have the passing machine in Gundogan, and I think Fernandinho might be foreseen as our Alonso. We still need the warrior and my guess is that Pogba is forseen to be the one adding this particular type of dynamics.
Then we clearly need at least one wing. With some goodwill I can see Sterling being our Ribery, but I cannot see Navas being Robben.
Finally it would seem to me that should be looking at 2 new fullbacks, none of our current ones have the adequate offensive quality, and it would seem from the rumors on here that we are already looking at 2 new centrebacks in Stones and Laporte.
Clearly Aguero is our Lewandowski and perhaps we can call De Bruyne our Müller.

I agree sadly I can see fullbacks being left until last.Maybe Angelo will be a success there? I rated Sagna last year after a below par first season but he's getting on now and would be a season too far IMO. I'd keep Clichy and Sagna but say a thank you and sad farewell to Zab and a thanks and good night to Kolorov.

Fernandinho is nothing like Alonso, if anything he'd be our warrior meaning we still need a proper #6. Yaya isn't a bad option...

Fernandinho and Sterling comparison with Ribery and Alonso was very amusing indeed.
