Easy there fella. I did point out that a few will be coming in and I think you're not far off with numbers (I can see another 2 or 3 after Gundogan). I was simply highlighting that I was told not to expect a wholesale upheaval of the squad with 6 new signings and a 150 - 200m outlay.
Any names Roy

Say if our summer overhaul was Gundogan, Sane, Nolito, Stones and a sub keeper with Bony, Yaya, Nasri, Zabaleta, Caballero and Kolarov out the door after Demichelis and Wright, would people be happy with that?

Just guessing based on the constant talk of Pep liking a smaller squad, that would give us a squad of 19 plus EDS players.

I would be amazed if all of those will be staying. They will be replaced with youth players o and a few incomings. Again, to clarify, I was told not expect a 200m, 6 player squad refresh.

Edit!! Sorry, that was meant as a response to Richards 30's list of players he doesn't feel are good enough!!

I think there will be more movement with the Copa America finishing soon. I wouldnt be shocked if we go there and look for a player or 2 under the radar to the 1s that we are linked to already. So with all the players being linked to the club we will see what happens over the week.

Also whats going to happen if the UK exits the European Union is the biggest question how will that affect our targets in the future. Will it go back to the old days were you will see some classy players missing out on Work Permits. English football has been good with the amount of different players playing in it and the standard has got better if it goes back to the 90s then were fucked is my opinion and the league will take a big hit.

Add kroos & I'd be buzzing

Still needs a fulback (or 2). Rose would be cool and allow us to move on Delph (Maybe for a small profit).

No. Sorry. I only ever hear about names when deals are fairly close and players and their families are looking to sort out living arrangements and finalise personal admin stuff (which does happen well in advance of actually signing with some deals e.g. Otamendi last season).

You would probably already know the names yourself by that point.

fuck that!! no way kolarov, yaya, bony, delph, bony, mangala will improve enough for a pep team! IF that's true then its a mjor boo boo by khaldoon and the board
+1 Pep aint no magician. He cant pull a rabbit from a hat. In the same way he cant turn kolarov and bony into world class footballers. They are dead weight.

Does anybody expect that apart from a few transfer muppets?

Even if we signed 3/4 players...considering we are dining at the top of the table...we will at the least be topping 100 million

If Leicester are "ready to offer" £30m for Deeney,I also can see us breaking through the £100m barrier.

Fair point. I reckon 3 or 4 would be hovering around 100m and could see that happening. In reference to the 'transfer muppets', it seems like expectations have got a little out of control as to who is going to be coming in.

Coming back to Troy Deeney costing how much 25 or 30 million, it would seem to me that we cannot get 3 or 4 players of the quality we need for 100 million. We want to win the Champions League, remember? 3 times Troy Deeney is not gonna give us that. We need to shop at a higher level, and that will cost more.

It could even be that the proposed narrative form the club about seeing what we can do with what we've got is actually a shot across the bows of any clubs we may potentially deal with regarding transfers.

It would certainly add an element of not being held to ransom for incomings (and outgoings to a certain extent).

Nothing pushes the price of a player up more than a desperate buying club!!!

That is a good point actually.

Surely Deeney is an outlier though? He's English and therefore overhyped and overpriced. You could conceivably bring in a couple of 35m players and then shop smart for a couple of 5-10m baragins (and they are out there, just look at Mahrez or Kante). Coupled with the talent we already have in the 1st team and the EDS as well as Pep's input, we should be challenging on all fronts with around a 100m spend.

Edit - Sorry, forgot we've spent on Gundogan already!! Even so, if we aren't challenging in every competition with a potential 100m playing staff investment, something is seriously wrong, as was the case last season after a large outlay. In my mind, the biggest element of last season's failures is now gone.

Maybe you are right Mate. Personally I would like to see Sane, Kante and Stones coming in (in addition to Gündogan), and that might be in the 100 million pound bracket I should think.

I would be happy with that. Gives us a decent set of options across midfield and the wide areas. Full back is an issue but could maybe be solved with Angelino and Denayer for the time being? As long as Kolarov fucks off anything else is a bonus!!
