Cant see them selling the players we want unfortunately - as people have speculated they have James and Isco who will probably leave before Kroos - our only hope is if they want Lewandoski plus Pogba in which case they may need to ship quite a few out and they do have a penchant for a new toy!

This - the club has made an offer but the chances of landing one of the worlds best are never good because top clubs rarely sell their best players. At least we know we are shopping at Harrods and looking to bring in the best. Fingers crossed. Thanks to IBH for sharing the info.
 
Ever walked around a shopping centre and seen all those little kids in Barcelona shirts with Messi on the back? Just think what signing him would do to their heads, and the heads of their rag, dipper, chav fan dads.

Think about away grounds experiencing record attendances because Leo is coming to town. The rags used to sing about 'your only here for united' didn't they? It would be our turn, but I'm sure we would sing it in a witty style and without the arrogance :)

And not forgetting football fans the world over who see Messi as some kind of living deity. Think of all those new smiling Cityzens from all corners of the world appearing on your social media feeds*

The whole league, the media and the football establisment would go into meltdown. Messi would be hugely overated, past his best and not as good as Rooney! And you wont be able to get a ticket for a City game home or away all season.

I'm thinking maybe in the future I should just post if I think we have virtually signed someone rather than have made an offer..I don't want to get people giddy over nothing..as I have said before..I receive info..get giddy..then want other people to share my excitement..perhaps that's not the way to approach it..

There is an offer on the table..but that's all it is..an offer..the info is genuine

Someone who is/has been a good source, told me in an annoyingly knowing manner that putting a massive bid in whilst knowing it probably won't be enough, is good PR should the window not pan out as planned.

Don't do that mate, post all you can as helps me through the summer! Most of us accept this is a transfer forum and posts can be read on that basis...I suspect the majority appreciate all that you post, I certainly do.
 
Think the source for the city an advanced talks for Thiago is El confidential don't know how reliable they are tho.

Stick with it IBH, you've posted in good faith on good information, if you were a wum it's easy to say such a body is coming. A bid is in, we understand that and that we may never hear of it again.

You mean the Swales tactic. I remember him putting a bid in for Shearer which was blatantly never going to be enough. Just a publicity stunt.

If we sign Thiago then that surely puts end to potential Kroos signing. Shame as I think Kroos is better, not complaining if we sign Thiago. His injury record is slightly concerning.

El Confidential is OK paper, not the best, not the worst either.
