It's taken 25 years for us to be able to compete with them again. Who knows what will happen in the next 4 years.
It's a sad reflection on society that some are willing to so quickly dismiss the past. It is our histories that define us and everything we do now only adds to our history it can never replace it.
We beat them in 1987 there when neither team was anywhere near the Windies. They were the best team from 1993 until a couple of years ago, it was only the 2005 win when we beat the best to win the ashes.
If Australia carry on the way they are other sports will benefit and history counts for nothing as the FA have shown us by getting rid of the historic England v Scotland matches.
