The Barca Boys

Such a fucking childish and stupid retort. For argument sake is there anything that they could do that would make you question them? Or is it all ok as long as we keep winning things? Although, with 2 years of shit recruitment that looks like it’s changing too.

When all it takes is 14 months without winning the league for people to want the board and manager who’ve won us 18 trophies sacked then childish replies are warranted.

It’s been 40 league games since we were the most successful club side in English football history.

People are bringing up Wenger a lot at the moment, at least it took Arsenal fans 5+ years before they decided their best ever manager was shit now and needed to be sacked, not a year and a bit.

I wasn’t on about the 2 years of shite recruitment. I was on about the ones who will defend whatever our lovely, moral owners do because they’ve bankrolled us to the top.

The Wenger comparisons are fucking everywhere on here at the moment and it's maddening. It makes no fucking sense whatsoever.

Its cult like. But it also makes no sense because the site is full of people moaning about how the club treat ‘legacy’ fans but criticise them??? No way.

We could have been bankrolled by a consortium of Hitler, Mussolini, and Pol Pot and some of our happy clapping fans would still worship them.

Sycophants.

It isn't your own club. It's not our club any more. When long term local / traditional fans are alienated by way of cost or petty ticketing restrictions, the club may as well be called 'Profit FC'.

The only things that make it anything like 'our' club are the sky blue shirts and having a ground in Manchester. Everything else is CFG... a worldwide organisation.

You blinked and missed it.
We are the only club in the CFG stable that doesn't have a dedicated CEO or COO. Soriano & De Vries are CFG employees. Danny Wilson is the highest ranking manager solely focused on City, but he has little leeway. It's absolute nonsense when we're over 80% of CFG yet seem to be an afterthought.

That would be because most people on here are intelligent enough to understand the difference between the roles of the executive and those of the owner and the Board.

(Capital B to make it clear I am talking about the real board, not some low-level management committee that may call itself a board).

What you and your (two?) friends call sycophancy, I call knowing what we are talking about.

Who are the football people on the board? They're all mates of Khaldoon. It's a poorly constituted board.

I think you give far too much credit to people

Thing is , i know more about the inner workings of what goes on inside the offices of City than probably the vast majority on here. So when i give an opinion its from a stance of knowledge rather than just throwing opinions about.

A poster said “as if soriano makes decisions on tickets etc” earlier in the thread.
Thats an opinion of ignorance, because i know he is very hands on on most decisions concerning most things. Prestwich blue backed this up with his own experiences of him too

Obviously Soriano is responsible for ticketing and fan engagement. He is the CEO, but he isn't the owner and he isn't on the Board. Capital B.

I don't remember suggesting otherwise.

Yes, the lack of football experience at Board level is a bit of a weakness. I remember making that very point on here more than ten years ago, asking where Mansour has access to the football knowledge he needs to keep the executives under control.

I was told in no uncertain terms, you can probably guess by who, that Mansour appoints the best people as CEOs, in this case Soriano, and then leaves them to it.

Never a good idea to invest in a business you know nothing about and then just leaving someone else to it.

That’s why Khaldoon, and more likely Mansour, finally intervened during the fans protests, because they couldn’t let the way the directors were treating the fans carry on un-checked.There are still issues that need to be checked and reversed, especially the with the use of season tickets.

I think that is most likely.

:) As long as you mean directors with a d, not Directors with a D. I know it's pedantic, I just think the distinction needs to be clear otherwise we get people blaming the Board and, by extension, Mansour for all Soriano's nonsense.

Do you have any evidence that this happened?
