The Barca Boys

Thought this thread was bait.

We wouldn't have dominated the last decade of English football without these so-called 'Barca boys'.

CFG website has Wilson as Director of operations in its leadership list, and no mention of de Vries, so I am not sure.
Chief Operations Officer not Director of Operations different roles

If you read the below he was in fact appointed to the role before Berrada left

"Omar Berrada, who was previously Manchester City’s Chief Operating Officer, takes the newly created global role of Chief Football Operations Officer"

Already determined that CFG reflect MCFC

If by the top dog you mean Soriano, he left for CFG some time ago. One of the top teams in world football now operates without a Chief Exec and it shows.
It’s all about CFG now, not MCFC. Oh, and our defence of the 130 charges? Pannick reports to CFG, not MCFC. Have a look at our board, where is the MCFC element?
Where's the football element full stop?

I've said this for years. The owners put all their eggs in the Bergiristain/Guardiola basket in 2016, and gambled that it would pay off; which fortunately it did.

I can't imagine that Viana will have the same level of influence 'at the top' that Bergiristain had, so Guardiola appears to be the sole football 'brain' anywhere near Board level.

I've been absolutely convinced for ages that Mansour and Co have no real succession plan post Guardiola/Bergiristain/Soriano.

Khaldoon has had an easy ride in CFG since being appointed. His job may be about to get a lot tougher as the Barca Boys are finally broken up.

This could be a shambles

anyone seen pics of the meeting from this summer we had almost every time in the past when Soriano, Txiki, Pep travels to UAE to meet Mansour?

What a mess. Difficult to find a serious defence of our club management over the past 18 months, the squad is now wholly unfit for the level we seek to be at. Asleep at the wheel.

Yes, something has happened over the past 18 months where those in charge at City took their eye off the ball. For me the waste of money on average and panic signings has been the greatest concern. Not addressing the obvious need for a right back. The growing discontent between the club and the fans. And the continuing style of play and similar tactics to last season that wasn’t working anymore, which is being repeated again this season.

It feels like the old Arsenal . Won the lot (unlike Arsenal) so now just keep treading water - do enough to stay in top 4 (look at the panic buys in January to achieve that ) and anything else is a bonus.

Recruitment has been below par but sometimes things dont work out hence why we needed some top notch signings.

As for the the ticket rules - they can sod off .

This is my last year whether I get to 10 games or not. I wont be begging for a exemption if my circumstances change or they move too many games. And I wont be selling tickets back to them (frankly out of spite)

Now they have won everything and made it world wide they honestly don't give a shite about us "legacy fans". We don't spend enough at the shop and get "cheaper" tickets than the rest. We are just a big pain the in arse to them. How do I know. Because actions speak louder than words. They think they have outgrown us old sods and that change was especially noticeable after the treble.

In all honesty part of me hopes we get shafted over 115 just to watch them panic for shits and giggles and to watch them squirm. (even though i think no rules were broke) and for their recent horrible raggy arrogance towards the fans who have taken shite and backed the club to the hilt over this.

I don't mind not winning stuff otherwise I`d never have been a fan , but at least look like its important and that it hasnt turned into some sort of Global Vanity Project. I don't give a shite about CFG only City. If City no longer need me at games that's fine I dont need to be there (I`ve seen the lot anyway). Next year its Curzon and football trips aboard for me.

Of course they have a succession plan. Begiristain retired at 60 and was properly replaced with a minimum of fuss. I imagine Soriano will also retire when he is 60 in a couple of years and I think Guardiola would have left already if it wasn't for the 115.

But Mansour is never sacking Guardiola. He has earned the right to go when he wants and it's pretty clear he doesn't want to while the 115 is ongoing.

He is never sacking Soriano either, Mansour can wait a couple of years until he retires (or is persuaded to retire). Chances are de Vries will take over.

The big question is who will replace Guardiola, but if you think Mansour and Khaldoon have no plan - no, I can't have that.

Time to call time on this clique.

It started out as a match made in heaven.

The worlds best coach
A DoF widely recognised as footballs shrewdest operator who had the phone number of every one worth having.
And a top dog who gelled it all together.

Now we have a coach who football past by and overtook 2 years ago and he is struggling to see his plan A never mind any sort of plan B.
A DoF who failed in too many transfer windows before swanning off into retirement
Ans a top dog who is more worried about Harold transferring his ticket as hes not feeling great than keeping us at the topZ

Add in to that mix khaldoon, who is supposedly a world elite political operator who is seemingly letting the ship drift

CHANGES NEEDED FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.
Fucking hell! Read this and think on

I wouldn't be remotely surprised if the 'Board' have been blagging the whole football side of things since day one.

Mansour will be far more interested in horseracing/ bloodstock than football. It's just another sideline business for him.

As for Khaldoon, he's just a figurehead. He's got far more important things to work on in relation to Abu Dhabi than football.

After the Treble they all put their feet up, lit their cigars and generally got complacent. You can't foresee players losing form or getting injured long-term but you can plan for players getting old and stale.

Take note because the attitude of some fans also needs to change.
Unbelievable

You should stick to the Joke Forum. Oh ... hang on ...

That was pure horror and I'm now re-traumatised 18 years on. Luckily, the nightmares started to clear up as the noughties progressed.

And to think that Pearce was valued at international level and even now is a regular "expert" pundit on the radio.

Whatever issues we may have, the board took us to the very top and none of us truly thought that would ever be possible back in 2007. So, happy days!
