The battle for 3rd place

Semi-final loss left a bitter taste in my mouth. Grandma's cooking cured that. Rest of the season is now damage limitation. The mental and physical drain from the Semi's may be a factor for the derby. Only thing one can do is support them till the end.

Someone in here said it, that feeling of ruthlessness isn't there. I think everyone wants the team to play with ferocity. I could talk about how they could tactically approach every match or which personnel to play, however, the team now have to be mentally strong till the end of the season.

They are shite but one point behind us? And are playing every 3-4 days ? Listen mate I hate the bastards with every bone in my body but as it stands we look as equally as shit as them , we are very vulnerable on Thursday mark my words - Mourinho for the utter bellend that he is specialises in games like this , they are on a big unbeaten run and if it was us that was on one I'd tend to agree with you a bit more.

50-50 this game , the biggest derby for a good few years with what's at stake.

I know what you are saying, and I agree, they are on a run,(of a fashion, how many draws ?),and like most derbies, definitely at 50-50 before the start, but a final push is whats needed here, and as long as he picks the best available side,we can do the business

Settle for a point.
If Aguero and Silva are out, given the rubbish subs we had yesterday a draw will be a decent result.

I see another 0-1 home derby with them hitting us on the break. maybe scrape 1 all result if we're lucky. zero confidence in our side especially if big dave is out.

It's the final push that worries me , 4 or 5 of them know they won't be hear next season and we expect them to run through walls ?

It's the old adage of being professional mate between now and end of season though, I'm sure, even those who know they are going, will want to go out on a high,as the old guard/ones we think that will leave have always wore the shirt with pride and won so much with us,this is the problem that Pep and the ones above have caused though,in simple terms,a few should have been moved on last summer, then the mass cull, what is needed, wouldn't have had such a major situation that we are going to find ourselves in

Couldn't agree more fella , you don't see Barca, Madrid , Bayern , Chelsea etc etc running contracts down en masse to basically get rid of players for free, big clubs don't carry on like that - they get rid at any price and quickly, other clubs seem to turn profits on dogshit -we just end up keeping them and then leave for fuck all.

Can't wait for Khaldouns end of season appraisal, he said last season wasn't good enough and we won a cup and played our first ever CL semi final, let's hope he's as critical of this one and rightly so.

You are almost suggesting their manager (specialises in games like this) may consider specific tactics for the game. What a great idea. I wonder if we will? Or will we play exactly the same as the last 40 games??
