Hows our record against the top 6 or 7 sides this season

How many have we won?
I know. I think Pellegrini may have at last stumbled on a decent line up for the first XI but the Arsenal game comes after Real Madrid. I thought we'd lose today. Man Utd will be kicking themselves. The trouble is we have two rivals for 4th now.

We need to ensure it's in our hands when we go into the last game.

Yeah, but did we beat Liverpool, Leicester, Tottenham and the SCUM at home with our strongest 11? (If my memory is correct, we collected a sum total of 0 points from these games at home!)

You can surely understand why so many are voicing their doubts about beating Arsenal all of a sudden, taking into account our performances this season.

Oh don't get me wrong I'm not feeling that confident but these players, especially with KDB and Nasri hopefully playing will put a shift in for 2 more games.

Hart, Kompany, Fernandinho, KDB & Aguero, feel better if those 5 play. Not sure how many times they've actually played together this season.

Arsenal are not great too, watched their game yesterday and they weren't brilliant. I think if we win or lose on weds , we will be fired up for different reasons .
I think we will beat them at home , will be close tho, won't be 6-3 lol
Hope so.

Arsenal has become must win, our record this season suggests it's a game we won't win. I think it all depends on Wednesday, a result in Spain boosts us for the weekend. Lose in Spain and I think we're screwed. This squad under this manager doesn't have the mentality to bounce back.

Yeah, injuries have messed up our season quite a bit and I do hope we win both our league games too, but I'm feeling quite low after today's performance (all too familiar feeling this season).

No. I was one of those who did. Amongst others. So have been trying not to claim personal credit by not mentioning anything I said - given that I was not alone.

You are the one bringing up the claiming of credit. But not sure why that is worth arguing over.

All I have noted is that several people on here DID see the way today might pan out up front which you seemed to be asking earlier if anybody had. I presume to say it is easy with hindsight.
I thought your post was replete with self-aggrandisement. Thank you for confirming that for me.

The Southampton game was always going to be the hardest of our last 3 due to it being in between Madrid games. Let's just be thankful United dropped points and we can hopefully put everything into the last 2 Pl games and finish 3rd.

Well okay. If you can actually do that without even mentioning yourself then I guess so.

The only reason anyone thinks I was talking about myself (when I wasn't and didn't) is because you keep insisting so. Doubt anyone else on the forum was thinking other than what I said. Some people DID predict why we needed a full strength side to have a chance to win today. Not because it was genius. It wasn't. That is the worry.

Of course, they also saw the reasons why MP would not pick such a side through force of circumstance.

Presumably seeing more than that you are psychic.

So did we win the CL please? Put us out of our misery.

can't wait for that fool of a manager to leave.
He's fucking uselsss

One bonus is that we won't have need to rotate or distractions of midweek matches for the remaining games, whichever way the result on Wednesday goes. So long as we're injury free we can go full strength into the last 2 games of the season - hopefully that makes the difference for us to put in a couple of strong performances.

Not sure?

You do though so go on, tell us all again how badly we have done against the top 6/7/8 sides but remember to finish it off by saying only 3 of them sit higher in the league.

We have struggled so much against teams in the top 6, feel this I such a key pivotal game of the season, so much so starting to feel nervous already. Got to play strongest team and perform, look like we can be arsed about next season even if half the players wont be here.

Yes, that is our best hope I agree. Not even sure which result Wednesday gives us the best chance.

We all want to be in the CL final, of course. But if we lose on Wednesday will that fire them up with adrenaline to go out and win the last two to save next season more than if we have that final to get in as a back stop?

Nice dilemma to be in but one that is scary to have to live with over the next week!
