The battle for 4th place

Possibly mate but he has a decent record elsewhere? His points total when in charge of them is still their highest ever I believe yet barca beat them to the title? Do a great job at Malaga in fairness and steadied the ship when he came here? Breath taking football in his first season yet it has just collapsed and the squad looks unfit, tired and totally devoid of confidence? If it wasn't for de Bruyne coming back when he did I'm sure we would have been smashed by psg and things would be a lot worse! (If possible!)

I'm sure they would have been. We were quite fortunate to get 3 points against West Brom even with Nasri back. It was only de Bruyne coming on and shit finishing from them that saved the day.

At least West Ham still have a sniff and the rags have to go there.

I bet he rests players on Saturday though.

I don't think they'll drop a single point in their remaining fixtures, and that notwithstanding they look a good bet to win the Europa League anyway. I'm at a loss to understand why so many people on here think they're shit. They've got a great manager, who espouses a high octane pressing game that has seen them get progressively stronger as the season has gone on - they've won 9, drawn 4 and lost just 1 of their last 14 fixtures. We will need at least 8 points from our remaining 4 fixtures to finish above both them and the rags, and resting players against Stoke is not an option IMO

I agree completely. Scousers look unstoppable and rags find a way of winning. That result at Newcastle was a disaster in terms of top 4.

Disaster?! What as in club will seize exists?!

Thats the problem since they changed it from winners of the league to top 4 getting champs league, fans celebrating finishing 4th.

I don't think finishing top 4 is anything to celebrate, especially us but the difference between CL football and Europa League football is totally lob sided.

He should have gone full pelt last night to get the points and then maybe changed a couple of things on Saturday in a home game? For the record I think we'lol get pumped by real anyway so would have gone full steam for Newcastle and stoke, hopefully have got maximum points and then have worried about real after Saturday!

A certainty I would have thought. Manuel is playing Russian Roulette with our immediate future. Stoke is a more important match than the SF. We're much more likely to qualify via league position than actually winning the bloody thing. Losing the final and finishing 5th would be the "big club" equivalent of losing a domestic cup final and getting relegated.

I think we'll win Saturday just need to get team selection right and hope we can get over our early Saturday misery.

Southampton and arsenal are the big ones for me, a good result on Tuesday sets us up for Saints and similarly the away leg before Arsenal. Equally though a poor result in either or both champions league matches may have repercussions for the league fixtures.
