The battle for 4th place

IF we get past Madrid and into the finals of the CL then it will make the next two league games all the more important. Wins against Southampton and Arsenal will put us at least three points ahead of fourth with a much superior GD going into the last day. If we are to reach the CL Final it will be nice to be able to rest who we want against Swansea to avoid any extra injuries before the final.

Never thought I'd be typing any of that at the beginning of the season....

Which bit? Finishing 4th or being in a CL final? Probably both!!

It's very important that we go into the Arsenal game at least level on points with them which due to our superior goal difference will put the onus on them to go for the win. Coming just 4 days after what will no doubt be a monumental physical and mental effort from the boys in Madrid we might find the tank empty when it comes to the Arsenal game so I'd happily settle for a draw and rely on us beating Swansea on the final day.

Did they not let slip earlier in the season that when they win the get to eat pizza? (Pizza Hut or Dominoes??? we need to know) and he gives them a couple of days off a week (wont be able to do that next season!)

Yes me to, but it has to be remembered that
we have had a dismal, disastrous league campaign.
The hierarchy should be ashamed that a club like Leicester have embarrassed us. Same goes for Rags, Chelsea, Arse etc. Utterly unbelievable really.

Whatever, it is not just an amazing football story, it is an amazing sports story full stop and I for one, hope they go on to win it.

Correct. Only two teams beaten Leicester in the league, Liverpool and Arsenal, I hope they perform as they can at OT.

Their game is before ours on the Sunday at 2pm and then we play at 4.30pm. We will know exactly how the land lies when we kick off.

I don't see that it makes that much difference. How will their result affect our tactics and approach at Southampton? We'll play the game exactly the same irrespective of the United result.

You make perfectly sound and valid points there. And I'm not looking to start any arguments. It's just about trying to ensure we're in the CL next season (despite our cynicism towards the competition and towards UEFA in general). It's better to be inside looking out, than outside looking in!
You are right Jim. Fuck trying in win the CL get 4th sorted. Far more attainable.
