A lot of that is due to the family element attending. Games used to be far more atmospheric twenty or thirty years agao when it was just lads and blokes.
These days home crowds often seem to be asleep apart from those behind the goal.

It's the same anywhere. Bayern make far more noise at away games too. Seven thousand Dortmund fans outsang Arsenal for 90 minutes last night.

7 OSCILLATING fans could of outsang Arsenal to be fair haha

Right guys, just written to Danny Wilson with regards to City maybe doing something as well and also to try and gain permission to get the 300 inflatables into the ground. The last thing i want is to turn up and not be allowed in and have to try and cart these back to the car..

Here is that letter with a Ricster attempt at humour.

Afternoon Danny.

I was wondering if you could tell me if it is ok to bring 300 inflatables to the Bayern game? Back in 2009 you may remember against Hamburg there were around 150 inflatables on view around the 110 area of the stadium which i brought with me, in an attempt to give us the kind of atmosphere we have craved since moving to the stadium and in hope to see us progress to the next round of the Europa League. Even though we won 2-1 that night, it wasn't enough to see us through as we lost 3-1 in the first leg in Hamburg, but i think you will agree the atmosphere was one of the best experienced at The Etihad since our move.
I would also like to thank the ambulance staff who were on duty in 110 that night. Now alot of people might agree with me here, but i really am full of hot air, but that night after attempting to blow up all of those inflatables, i thought i was going to pass out and had to spend time in the medical room due to exhaustion. You may laugh, but its a true story. I'm not one to give up, but boy, did i have a sore head for about a week after it.

Barring a miracle from Villareal, this time it is out of our hands, so why not celebrate our possible CL exit with a party atmosphere involving, fancy dress, inflatables, flags, streamers, confetti etc. I would also like to point out that all my inflatables have come from the internet and all carry the kite mark for safety and i dont really see there being any problems from a safety aspect with fancy dress, flags, streamers and confetti. Maybe tell Mario to leave the fireworks at home though, eh? I might even bring Fergiec**k. Please view link for picture of Fergie.

As you can see from that thread there is interest in this event, and the positive feedback is great, i also have an event page on Facebook, called The Bayern Party, advertising to as many fans that may possibly see it. I was wondering if City had any idea's to celebrate our first time participation in the CL too?

Ive been a City fan for a number of years, and for me this is what sets us out from the rest. While other fans might celebrate a win, or qualification to a later round of the competition, we're actually that mental we would celebrate going out of the CL. It'll look crazy to those watching across Europe, and the inflatables will also show part of our history. Sorry, forgot, we dont have any history.

Please can you help me, i've done all this off my own back, and my dad is even charging me double petrol money travelling from Scotland cos of the extra weight i will be adding to his car. He's English, im Scottish, and we are meant to be the tight ones, i seriously think he has been institutionalised from being over the border too long. Also, if the club says no, im going to be left with 300 of these things, and knowing my old man, he'll have a field day with storage costs.

Now that you know i am Scottish, i would also like to point out that in no way am i trying to make a fast buck. I plan to give these away for free within the stadium. Yes, that's correct, a Scotsman giving something away for FREE! I know you're probably sat there reading this thinking, Pot Pourri, or a bit menage a trois to you, but Pot Pourri it, im no Del Boy.

Anyway, mange tout Danny, mange tout

Thanks

Ric Ireland

Also with this being a Bayern Party or Baverian Party in translation, i'm thinking of doing fancy dress but going as an actual Bavarian. Who's up for it? Costume below.

Im pretty sure the Bayern fans will see the funny side and the attempted humour to welcome them.

we will never replicate the hamburg atmosphere unless its 5 quid, everyone went in groups and locals who cant afford to go like myself could go

Just had a reply from City reference the Inflatables. Good news and Bad news guys.

Ric,

Danny W passed on your email. We’re more than happy for you to bring the x300 inflatables to the Bayern match. Let me know if you need any help with any distribution of them and if we can help out in any other way (except blowing them up!) eg: pushing your facebook Bayern party page through our social media.

So the good news is City are backing it and are going to be pushing "The Bayern Party" through their social media.

Bad news is im going to need a nebuliser.

Lets do this Blues!

LOUD AND PROUD!

great news, however it would be great if the club could link up to a charity and sell the inflatables at the ground for a pund, think you should ask them ;)

Good idea Ricster.
Not sure about the wording in the OP mind, 'for once lets get behind the team'.
I thought most of us have been doing that all season, especially those shelling out £100-plus on travel and tickets for the London aways.

Yeah, but over half the stadium are usually quiet as hell for the whole game. Would be nice for everyone to get involved.

Unfortunately unless Villareal score 3 in the first 20 mins the atmosphere is bound to be affected by that feeling that it probably will not matter. I think it'll be a lot like the Villareal game after they scored.
