Does anyone know what the best asylum policy this country should have if starting with a blank sheet of paper.
If someone doesn’t want to be accused of using language not dissimilar to that used in 1930s Germany, then don’t use language not dissimilar to that used in 1930s Germany.
Thinking making that point is suggesting the individual is as bad as those that committed the holocaust is either just wrong or very disingenuous. The comparison is the use of language and propaganda - not the actions that they enabled.
One thing he didn't say was all this bollox about the holocaust. He just said, and quite rightly in my humble opinion, was the rhetoric from that prk Braveman. Re left wing, sorry pal but most on bluemoon ARE Mancs. Home to co op, left wing politics due to farce of capitalism in industrial revolution, helped shaped the working class socialist mindset in Manc. Look at our City Council and MP's , not left enough for me. The stock broker belt is what you get with rightvwing politics, all white faces, no diversity, boring as fk culturally as well as being unbalancedWell you're entitle to your opinion of course and in the lefty echo-chamber that is Bluemoon, the usual posters (you can just name them already) doubtless will agree. But it was IMO a crass and deeply inappropriate comment.
Seems it’s total humiliation for the government stooges parachuted in to run the BBC.
Did you vote Leave by any chance?Due process: welcome to the uk do you have a valid entry document? No, well then you’ll be treated as an illegal immigrant. How much more process is required? These people are chancers and should be treated as such.
This interview by BBC News of Tim Davie:
tells me all I need to know about this situation. Davie and the other Tory backers at the BBC need to go, Lineker should then be allowed to decide if he wants to continue or not then the Conservative Party need to be held accountable for their efforts to undermine and influence the public sector broadcaster. Any Tory that subsequently comes electioneering to my front door will get a grilling on this issue, hopefully the voting public will see sense and kick them out of government.
Just waiting for someone objecting to free speech and having a public service broadcaster not bowing to Government interference.Seems it’s total humiliation for the government stooges parachuted in to run the BBC.
That statement sounds like a huge damage limitation statement.
I wonder if everyone that supported him this weekend said they do the same next and ruin their FA Cup coverage?
wonder why this didn't get reported over the weekend?

EU Referendum: Boris Johnson stands by Hitler EU comparison - BBC News
Senior Conservative Boris Johnson dismisses a row about his comparison of the EU with Hitler as an "artificial" media storm.www.bbc.co.uk

Fuck me that kid has some imagination.Wow.
They live in an echo chamber.Well your opinion is certainly in a minority it seems, despite perhaps not so on our left-leaning forum.
There's countless polls on the subject, but rather than risk your potential claim that the polls are biased, here's one from the Leicester Mercury, Leicester not being particularly renowned for its right wing bias and being his home town you'd imagine he'd get plenty of support. Other polls in e.g. the Daily Express are less forgiving still.

The other comment I would make is that I am surprised the BBC are behaving as if this is some kind of difficult decision. Just get him sacked and move on. I wonder how many people watch MOTM just to hear their overpaid host say "What do you think, Alan". I imagine the show would cope without him.
An honourable man would resign. Davie is proving people's suspicions by not doing so.of course it is - the 3 now in the firing line and desperately trying to avoid having to take to the lifeboats
Probably because it was 7 years ago and people don't recall these things immediately.
Also Johnson isn't connected to the BBC so it's tangential to the main point of this row - BBC impartiality under this government.
