"I have just returned home from the Manchester City V Wolves game - 29th October 2011. That was one of the most breathtakingly corrupt and unforgivable refereeing performances it has ever been my misfortune to witness. Stuart Atwell is a disgrace and an embarrassment. There is no earthly explanation for what took place at the Etihad today. It is time to kick out the cheat. He has brought your Association into disrepute and should never be permitted to officiate a a Manchester City game again. I strongly urge that this matter be scrutinised as a matter of urgency. Shocking.

The club should complain. Nothing will be done, but it will mark his card if he ever refs us again. If we'd have been playing a top team today we'd have lost.

Isn't it Attwell, Pam, as in Winifred Attwell? I suspect that the pillock with the whistle today might be able to knock out a tune on the old 'joanna' but as sure as eggs is eggs Winnie can referee a PL game better that her great-grandson any day of the week, Sundays included.

I was incensed during the first twenty minutes at the glaring and blatant ineptitude. The FA, PL and the Refs' org will demonstrate their usual Pontius Pilate, head-in-the-sand approach and award him a Cup Final before the season ends.
 
He was shit but we've had plenty worse over the years. Only reason this stands out is because this season we've been getting favourable decisions in the other matches.
 
Get a grip. The referee was poor, he had an off day. I myself told him he was wank a dozen
times. Quality football came through in the end.
The biggest decision of the day was the one he got right and that's without half a dozen motd replays. Poor? Yes. Corrupt? Belt up FFS!

p.s From where I was sat Edin looked like he handballed it for the first goal. Thankfully Atwell didn't spot that either.
 
I started a thread on this but i can't see it anywhere!

He was an utter disgrace!No protection given to any of our players and allowed Wolves to kick lumps out of them with impunity,while every tackle we did was a foul.

No word with Hennessy for his disgraceful timewasting,i was made up when the lanky streak cocked up for our first goal,ex blue or not!
 
I have not seen such a poor referee performance for a long time do, the FA not have standards for them to maintain and are their performances not audited and reviewed.
If I made mistakes in my job like he made I would be demoted or sacked

that is honestly the worst display of refereeing i've ever seen. even worse than walton with the scouse cunts.

I suggest you watch it again and see that you were wrong.

He clearly chests it down before scoring.

So he's corrupt then, is that what your saying? Because that means that someone in the game is giving him some sort of favour for favouring the opposition. And if that's the case the game is in dire straits. If your saying he was chronically poor, then in your clumsy way, you're actually agreeing with me. Like I said, Attwell was really poor, But he's not corrupt.
 
like above, he's not bent in any way it takes a clever person to be corrupt, hes just a very bad ref who will not make the grade and will end up in charge of championship games
 
What i thought today after we had cheered our boys off, the depth of feeling that Atwell was so inept the crowd voiced its opinion after a win. Crying after a loss is par for the course but voicing he was shit after a win bears more weight.

1. learnt to quote properly, saves confusion.

2. to be corrupt is to not have a fair game in mind and to favour one team over another, it has nothing to do with money. this guy clearly had an agenda against city today, i'm not saying he had accepted pay checks (he might have though), what i'm saying is one way or another this **** wanted us to lose/draw today.
