The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

Could some of you at least take a few minutes and research who you dis? The Go-Betweens are LEGENDS in Australia and well they should be, and Grant McLennan’s death is up there in the panoply of wasted future potential with Petty and Prince. They did nine records I know of; none of them that I’ve heard save one is bad. The fact they are as unknown as they are is IMO one of pop music’s great mysteries.

This isn’t even my pick, but kudos to whichever one of you did pick it.

Tricky one.......

First time I've heard the Go-Betweens song and really enjoyed it.

But - as others have said, 4NB with the nostalgia and simpler times just won my vote

What a line up 40 years ago - all on Rough Trade

I listened to 16 Lovers Lane earlier today. Some music of that type from that period can sound terribly dated these days but this has stood the test of time remarkably well.

Still a boringly repetitive song.

This song just drones on and on...

I'm sorry guys this is like a new low for bluemoon, 4 non blondes although not a classic is at least melodically passable but it's being out voted by......

Some aussie group that looks like a Christian family where the beige dull father tells his kids to join in and sing the most boring song heard outside of an elevator or a shopping mall in Florida.
