The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

Feels wrong to vote for a modern Swedish Pop duo over the legendary CSN&Y .. But the song just falls better on the ear. was waiting for Deja Vu to kick in and it just didn't really go anywhere despite the obviously amazing harmonies, had it been a different pick off the album it would likely have won.

*just realised I've got a First Aid Kit song in one of my Spotify playlists - 'My Silver Lining'. Great track.

Not sure there's been that many really obscure ties but where there are I guess it's the nature of the internet / streamed music. Thirty years ago if you got out of bed and suddenly wondered what Kazakhstan's premier hip hop artist sounded like the thought would soon leave you and you'd have to content yourself with your existing record collection whereas now you can be listening to him within a minute.
 
One man's obscure is another man's mainstream. We could have all picked something that everyone had heard but to be honest that would have been pretty boring. Some just picked songs they liked by artists they liked not necessarily to win but maybe getting people to listen to something slightly different. Nothing wrong with that

The criteria was Top 10 hit/Female/Song after 2000/2 personal favorites.

That's why there's such a good (obscure) selection in the pot.
