The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

My main gripe with Pearl Jam is I have not liked an album since Vs.
Great band up until then but sadly I have not taken to the direction they have taken after Vs.
I can understand why folk like them though.
An American version of Oasis just to piss off their fans.
In saying that for both groups there will be certain songs by both I would vote over by some of the biggest groups ever.

I can totally see that. And while I was quick to make the joke to Fog, he does indeed have a point. They are a 'greatest hits' band, rather than an albums band. Still have some pretty big hits though, some great live gigs, and a lot of good music in the catalogue.

There's an old adage that if you start together and finish together you can get away with a lot in the middle. I once went to see UB40 and they couldn't even manage that. However it didn't stop them playing a fantastic gig that was just one huge party from beginning to end . That night they were probably the least together band I'd ever seen but it made absolutely no difference to the experience, still mystified how they did it to this day.

This one's a slam dunk.

I hate that um-chick, um-chick, um-chick sound of UB40. Every song of theirs I've ever heard sounds the same. OK, "Rat in my kitchen" is OK but they are so bland.

Spin Doctors, a superb song from a very good album. First heard it when we were on honeymoon in Cyprus and they were playing it on the Armed Forces radio station. I wasn't in the army but the hotel picked up the nearby broadcast.
