I haven't really been following this, but great, amusing post. It makes me think of Kenneth Williams and his “Infamy! Infamy! They've all got it in for me!”
What the fuck beat out the Walker Brothers, by the way? Great, great voices. I remember “The sun ain't gonna shine any more” as if it were yesterday…

Incidentally, some will remember another great “brothers” record (I don't think they really were, actually) from the year previous to that one — “You've lost that loving feeling” by the Righteous Brothers. Again, thundering voices, and the full Phil Spector treatment.
