A-ha's Hunting High and Low album was the first album I bought with my own pocket money, simply based on their sound (I hadn't seen the Take on Me video).
They became a bit of a "gateway band" later getting me into New Order, Depeche Mode and Per Shop Boys.
I also love Soft Cell, mainly around Dave Ball's keyboard work as I thought Marc was always slightly out of tune. And my sister went to the same school as Marc & most of the myths about him were true!
A-ha for me though, although I prefer their darker stuff rather than their bubblegum pop material.

The 12 inch say hello wave goodbye still gets played regularly in the car. I can't hit the high note at the end anymore but that doesn't stop me trying...... .
