The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

Here come the Floyd-obsessives. The “masterpieces” from Wish You Were Here are the title cut and “Have A Cigar”, and if you want to argue it, even “Welcome To The Machine” is more iconic. Meantime “Age of Consent” is still a tune played at every New Order show and often their opener. Since I love both the records these two tunes come from, but AOC is IMO the more important song in the history of the band, AOC it is. Plus, yes, I just like AOC better.

No need to put myself through the New Order again to know which way to vote, I’ll listen to the whole Floyd album instead
Just listened to Wish You Were Here again for the first time in a while.

The title track is indeed the masterpiece. Whilst I can see some being put off by the length, that ringing guitar on "Shine on you crazy diamond" is excellent though. And the thoughts behind the song add to it being highly regarded.
