The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

Remember . . . this is considered one of Radiohead’s “good” songs. I do like two of three words in the title which describe this band to a t.

Oh the pain. Oh the angst. Oh the imagery. Oh, the meeting with the chartered accountant to discuss tax shelters after making a zillion on hapless depressed teenagers.

Foggy as a murican, what you need to keep in mind is that in the UK posh boys who go to posh schools are trained to be over confident and entitled. Consequently they then often go on to cause mayhem in their chosen professions or if they are truly exceptional they get to turn the entire country into a dumpster fire. So in comparison to what they could have done, releasing FPT is actually a relatively minor transgression.

Ha ha ha that is wonderful. I will keep this in mind in future!

Radiohead, for me, are one of those bands who are 80% shite, but the other 20% is outstanding. This is miles away from being their best song, but is still an easy winner here. That Go-Betweens tune is just aimless.
I agree with what you're saying. Their best songs are magnificent, some are decent, and many are absolutely shite. I took my eldest daughter to a gig a few years ago and it was Tom Yorke's birthday. He changed the set list and my daughter only recognised 2 tracks. The crowd waited and waited for their best songs but Yorke continued to warble on in high pitch screechy voice peddling out shite album tracks, the self centered ****.
