I think the Jam are overrated, and in many respects what I mean by this is Paul Weller is overrated (I like Foxton). I mean I like them, and I like the song in question, but I’ve never found their hooks that hooky nor their melodies that melodic. Good energy and great lyrics — in the early, punkier part of their career — I’ll give you.by a distance is pushing it in the jams case

The Beatles are the greatest band in history because they were the most influential and wrote dozens of great songs. But do I listen to them by choice any more? Never. Granted I still enjoy some tracks from The White Album and Abbey Road and I still love “A Day In The Life” when I hear them. But given an effectively infinite option set, I’d rather hear something that I haven’t heard a thousand times before.Music is always subjective, no opinion is right or wrong?
I just don't like that song.
IMHO the Beatles are pants, one of the worst bands I've ever heard, and to my knowledge, I've yet to hear a cover that isn't better than the original, yet most people think they're great?
I'm sure (I know) bands I think are great, others wouldn't listen to, each to their own ;)
